Coach Whitlock finally arrives at the centre, and instructs us on what skills we have to practise today.

She conducts a demonstration, and says she's going to pick two people to help her with it. Of course, the entire team put their hands up eagerly, hooting "Me! Me! Me!" like little kids in a PE lesson, but she says that she's going to pick two names up out of a jar. I silently sigh in desperation, just praying that she won't pick me, and...

"Y/N and Kai."

Ugh. If it had to be me, couldn't I at least go with somebody else?

"So, Y/N and Kai, you guys are gonna do this, watch me."

The coach propelled the ball from pretty far away from the hoop and aimed it in there perfectly.

"Okay, ready? Y/N, you go first."

I did as the coach instructed, with perfect accuracy, and managed to get the ball into the hoop.

Then it was Kai's turn.

He also did as the coach instructed, with perfect accuracy, got the ball through the hoop...

But this time, something was different.

People... started... clapping.

And cheering.

I wanted to walk straight out of that building.

And so, I did.
