A "Normal Day"

It was a normal day. I guess you could call it that. The opening line of a story is the one people say has to be the most "gripping", but an abnormal amount of stories open with the word normal - that may just be because if people find something relateable then they're more likely to empathise - but if youre looking to empathise, then this is not your story. Unless youre gay. In which case you'll love the oncoming gay panic moments.

I started this notebook as a way of noting down everything thats happened, in case there are some other survivors out there. So people can find it and be like "fuck Romeo and Juliet, i want what these bitches have". Maybe this whole thing is a fever dream, and ill wake up soon, but if im being completely honest, i dont want to. She's worth all the pain.
I think the best place to start is the start.

So, as i said, a normal day. I was i guess staring at her from afar, probably a bit like a stalker. the sun made her blue eyes sparkle in the most beautiful way. I sound like a simp. Thats because i am one. mOvInG oN-

Her eyes. Yes, her eyes. And her hair - it was so... Shiny, and it looked so smooth and i longed to just touch it. I sound so creepy, but if Wilbur Soot wants to smell hair then surely im allowed to feel it 🙄🖐️ Im not gonna put a huge effort into people descriptions because lets be honest, theyre not that crucial, so in summary, shes just really god damn pretty.

My friends always told me she was a childhood crush, and my feelings would be irrelevant in a few years, but standing there, looking at her, they didnt feel irrelevant at all. Oh well, what did they know. Theyd all be dead by the end of the day anyways.

I decided to just get up the courage to talk to her - it sounds so much more simple than it is. I just impulsively walked in her direction, forcing one foot in front of the other, making sure my mind was anything but where i was at that moment. I looked up at her. She was looking back. Fuck.

"hi-lo"

Oh fuck. Oh no. Really bitch. You just- *sigh* you decided to just merge hi and hello together. Now you just have to wait for the oncoming mockery.

"and a hi-lo to you too"

Woah. Not what i expected. I can work with this.

"can we speak in private for a second?"

Ok so why tf did i say that. Did I even want to speak to her in private? I guess we shall never know.

"yeah sure, actually ive been meaning to talk to you too"

Maybe there's hope after all

*five minutes later*

Me and her were standing outside the toilet block just talking about random stuff. Like dolphin sex. She knew a creepy amount about it actually, like did you know dolphins are actually very sexually active creatures? Oh how i envy dolphins. And what sort of high pitched noises would they make during - i dont even wanna imagine.

So i know this is gonna sound weird and its gonna be all like, "tHaT eScElAtEd QuIcKlY" but im just saying the truth here. Everything went dark and we both looked up to see the sky had turned a vivid crimzon colour, dark clouds circled us and the atmosphere was so thick you could cut it with a... (ok imma just avoid clichés)... chainsaw. As we looked down and back at each other, the first emotion we had both shared with each other, maybe for each other (yes, this is a reference to my un-reciprocated love) filled our eyes. Dread.
