We stood there for what was probably five minutes, but what felt like an eternity, just waiting for it to blow over.
It didn't.
She said to me in a hushed tone "should we... Go?" I nodded and we made a beeline for the gate (forgetting it was locked) so we clambered over it and we were out. When i put it like that it sounds easy, but it was extremely awkward considering she was watching me struggle to get up and laughing, being the "helpful" cocky, attractive person she is. I would say it was a relief getting over if it wasn't for what happened next.Groaning and moaning sounds were coming from inside the school. She wanted to investigate of course, but i thought it would be safer to just go, and she didn't want to leave me to fend for myself. (aww cute couple moment)
I guess this time was better than any to do some other stuff we wanted to do. She always used to say she wanted to climb ontop of a building and look at the stars - so thats what we did. I guess youre wondering how we got ontop of a building in the first place. We took the stairs.
This truly felt like romance, but i guess it wasnt. It was never going to be. (thank you past me for being a pessimistic bitch and doubting things).
So we were there, atop a 10 storey building, our legs dangling over the edge, the sky - that had faded from crimson to black quite quickly - lit up by stars (yes, its night now, just go with it), and she was pointing out different constellations to me. The risk of falling off didnt feel at all relevant when we both hated the way life works anyway. Maybe death wasn't as much of a bad thing that people make it out to be. Interrupting my deep train of thoughts, she saw something that made her exclaim "oh fuck".How dare those zombies kill our vibe.
There was just a mass of them walking round the corner - really slowly.
"i think we have time to-" i turned to her but saw that she was already gone. Well i guess at least she didnt just yeet herself off the building.Soon i found myself legging it with her to the nearest hotel (which lets be honest, was not very near) as a place to just hide out for a few days. If everyone was zombies then it's not like we'd have to pay. At some point we turned around and looked at the zombies just kinda waddling over towards us, and i said, "yeah i dont think we need to run. "
Speedwalking away from zombies is still kind of thrilling tho, right?
When we got to the hotel we just rushed past reception and into the first room we could find. She hurriedly picked the lock (she refuses to teach me how) and we threw ourseleves in before she slammed it shut behind her.
She then turned to me, looked deep into my eyes, and said "Huh, this is exactly like the daydream you told me you were gonna turn into a crappy wattpad story. Weird." Well i was just hoping it would go the way wattpad stories usually go if you know what i mean😏
