It was the early morning in Hyrule. Link came out of his bed as soon as he could. He took his sword and went to hyrule fields to hone his skills. After quite some time a few of the royal guards spotted the hero and came to him.
"Master Link, how long have you been here?"
"Ever since sunrise." He responded simply. "I need to keep my skills intact. I cannot afford to slack off."
With that, the Hyrulian champion continued his training until he felt he did enough. He hasn't even had breakfest yet.
While eating his morning food, Link thought of what he would do for the day. He didn't need to do much today nor tomorrow. Princess Zelda was away for royal duties.
"I could go to town, train with the royal guards or perhaps perhaps just wander of in Hyrule. Like I used to do when I was younger.... Yeah that wouldn't be half bad."
Right before noon Link would put some bread in his bag and took his master sword with him. Especially in these crucial times, it would be better to take it with him just in case. Who knows, a Yiga could appear to claim his head.
Walking on the fields of Hyrule, Link was enjoying the silence and admiring the landscapes around him. He found himself on a bridge and stood on the edge to get the full view. One of the other Hylians tried to stop him, thinking he was going to jump off.
Later on Link came across a river that streamed its water all the way to a lake. In it he saw fish swim. He thought about hunting to cook some fish later, but instead he thought about the Zora champion Mipha. He wondered how it went with her mission as champion, her ability to control the divine beast vah ruta and more importantly how she was in general.
Without thinking much he went to make his way to the Zora kingdom.
"I wonder how she's doing."
Once there in the Zora Kingdom he saw a familiar face running towards him.
"Hey Link!" A small zora child came running. It was none other than Prince Sidon.
"Hey there!" The Hylian greeted him with a big smile. "How are you doing Sidon?"
"Great! I've been spening a lot time of time with my big sister. She's really working hard!"
"I'm glad to hear that. Speaking of, do you know where I can find her."
"Oh she said she was going to walk somewhere behind these mountains. She wants to relax after all her duties."
"makes sense... Sorry to keep our conversation short, but I have to go see her."
"Alright take care." And with that Link left and went of the the place Sidon pointed at. It was still pretty vague but then again, she might not have told exactly where she went. "Oh well."
The Champion of Hyrule was walking the coast close to the sea. He figured since Mipha is a water lover, she might be close the place where there is a lot of it. The wind was blowing in Link's face and you could hear the waves moving towards the shore and back. Still no sign of the Red Zora, untill...
"Link!" He heard a familiar voice. It was Mipha!
"Have you been looking for me or is this just a coincidence?"
"I have been looking for you. I was curious how you were doing ever since our training together."
"I've seen great progression since our traning session together. Really, thinking your here with me even when practicing alone has helped me a great deal."
"That fantastic! Are you feeling better about your role as champion?"
"Yes, however I still feel the pressure from everyone around me. Not just the Zora's, but from everyone here in Hyrule. I feel like I cannot let them down. I've been chosen for this, so I've got to to succeed, no matter what."
"Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Remember to relax sometimes."
After some time the two of them were both at the sea, throwing rocks as far as they could in the sea. Talking about trivial matters.
"You know one of my favourite things about stasis, is the fact that you can stop objects in the air or that you can stop on object like a boulder on the ground, hit it a few times and it won't even move. Then once I'm on top of it and the stasis effect worns off, I go flying to the direction my last hit was aiming towards."
"Isn't that dangerous?" Mipha asked. She soundes a bit concerned but at the same time she was also curious.
"It can be, but I've done it a lot of times already, so I know how to do it safely."
Link grabbed a rock threw it slightly in the air and used statis on it. The rock was floating in the air, about the eye level of link and he slashed it a few times with his sword. After a few seconds the rock flew away. Covering a few hundrer meters before finally landing in the sea again.
"I also do this sometimes for no reason sometimes. There is just something satisfying about this."
It was silent for a moment, before Link came up with an idea.
"Hey Mipha."
"Yeah."
"Want to ride a boulder with me through the air?"
"Are you serious? "
"Not entirely, but It would be a fun thing to do. Don't worry, the first time will be slow."
Mipha just laughed at the ridiculous idea.
"Maybe another time. I do find it sweet of you to invite me to such a creative idea to pass the time."
"Well is there anything you would like to do now?"
"Just spending time with you is enough for me." She said with a smile.
Mipha was sitting and pointed next to her, signaling for Link to sit beside her. Which he happily obliged. While sitting next to each other, Mipha rested her head on Link's shoulder, which he didn't mind. He welcomed it.
"Say... are you afraid of what will happen? With Calamity Ganon?" Mipha asked.
The Hero stayed silent for a moment before replying "I would say no to everyone else. I don't want to show any sign of weakness to the others.... However the truth is that I am."
Link just gazed away at the horizon.
"Afraid that I will lose everyone, including you. Afraid that I will lose Hyrule. The land we fought hard to protect. Being the chosen one to guard the princess isn't exactly a relaxing duty."
"Link" Mipha said while placing her hand on his. "I understand that you're afraid. To tell you the truth so am I. I think everyone is at least a little nervous about what could happen in the future. It's okay to feel that way. We have everyone around us who will support us and I am determined that we will win this war against Ganon."
More silence pass as the two enjoyed each others company.
"Mipha, are you free tomorrow."
"Yes."
"Would you like to spend time together tomorrow?"
The Zora princess grew a smile and happily nodded
"I'd love to. What do you want to do."
"I was thinking about walking together and seeing where our path will take us."
"Sounds lovely."
With that they leaned closer to each other and enjoyed the moment together while looking at the distance. Already being excited for tomorrow.
