An uncommon love (Mipha x Link fanfiction)

Part 5

"Here Link, I made this for you."

Mipha said with a lot of excitement which she tried to hide.

Today both Mipha and Link were on an "unofficial date", both just wanted to be together but were'nt in an official relationship yet. They were however getting closer each time they saw each other.

"a suit? No it's armor."

"It's special Zora armor handcrafted by me." Mipha said with pride in her voice. "I thought it could come in handy, if you needed speed to swim. You can also swim up waterfalls with this."

"Oh, that is amazing! Thanks a lot Mipha!"

She was happy to hear that it was to his liking. 'Well there is still one special thing about this armor, but I don't need to tell him about that yet.' she thought. Referring to the fact that this special type of armor would be given to the person the crafter fell in love with.

"Would you like to try it out? We could swim togehter."

"Yeah, I'd love to."

With much excitement, Link put on the amor.

"It fits you perfectly and I'm happy about that. I didn't want to spend so much time on the armor only for it to not fit."

"I do look like a zora with the armor on. I wonder how I will move in it when I'm in the water."
With that Link went to the nearest lake and jumped straight into it. He tried swimming and found that swimming was much easier and faster.

"This is incredible!"

"Try swimming up a waterfall." Mipha said

With that Link swam to the nearest waterfall, he still had no idea what to do. How do you swim up on a waterfall. He tried not to think too much about it. He reached the waterfall and began swimming it. Link was surprised at how he was able to do it. But the armor made it possible for him.

'What did Mipha do with this armor?' he thought to himself.

Mipha arrived to the shore after swimming up the waterfall herself with ease.

"How was it?"

"I'd say that was amazing! Didn't know this suit would accelerate my swimming by such an amount, let alone the ability to swim up a waterfall."

"Well it is made out of very special material."

And so the two of them decided to swim some more.

After a while of swimming, both Mipha and Link got out of the water, dried themselves and looked fora place around the hills where they could both sit to talk about their daily lives.

"It's not easy being the royal guard of the princess. For some reason there are a lot of people that want her dead. I've lost count how many times I had to see a yiga change from its disguise, only for him to talk about his crazy obsession with banana's. Whenever I see a banana, I am reminded of them."

Link laughingly said and Mipha laughed as well.

"Well being a princess isn't necessarily any better. Everyone is always too formal to me. I can barely move across the Zora kingdom without attracting to much attention. People bow whenever they see me. Sometimes I think how life would be if I wasn't a princess. Maybe being a commoner wouldn't be so bad."

"Well what can you do about it?"

"Well technically I could give up my royal status, but I wouldn't want that. I take my duty very seriously. Just like how I take my duty as a champion seriously."

"I get you....."

Link wrapped one of his arm around mipha and pulled her closer, while Mipha rested her head on Link's shoulder.

"What do you want to do now?" he asked.

"Just sitting here with you is all I would want right now" she said happily.

Link pulled Mipha even closer and thought to himself 'I wish this could last forever...'

Time has passed and the sky was beginning to get darker. Link got up and asked Mipha for a final walk. She agreed to do so.

The sun had set and the sky turned dark. Really setting the mood.

"I've been wondering. Can you swim in the dark?"

"Not really. Our eyes are pretty much the same compared to Hylians when it comes to light. So while It is possible to swim in the dark, I can barely see if there isn't enough light. It would be beneficial if we could see underwater, regardless of how much light there is."

"I guess that means swimming now is out of the question?"

"Well we could swim if you really want to, but I doubt it would be much fun if we have no idea where we are going. That and there might be a chance we bump into each other."

"You're right and now that I think about it, I wouldn't want to dry myself again. Especially in the cold night."

The two kept talking about ideas they would want to do together, but also knew that it was rather late and decided to keep those ideas for another time.

Eventually they both reached the place where they had to split up to go home.

"I had a lot of fun today Link. Thank you." Mipha said with a smile.

"Me too." Link replied, also with a smile.

The two hugged each other for a while, but after that Mipha took it a step further by kissing Link on the cheek.

"See you soon!" she said and left. Leaving Link frozen in his place before he regained his composure and realised what just happened.

"Yeah, see you soon." he said softly to himself.


A/N: This was a hard chapter to make and to finish. Not that I didn't want to make it, but I just had no idea what I wanted to write about and how to finish it. I am happy that I made the chapter and hope you enjoyed it.
