The room was still as death when Black finished telling the others about his terrifying encounter. Even Pink was too shocked to dish out her usual attitude.
Finally, Blue spoke.
"Black, I hope you're not trying to pull a fast one on us... this is no time or place for it."
Black shook his head emphatically. "I couldn't be more serious, Sir."
White chewed her lip slowly, thick brows drawing tightly together. "I believe you, Black... but of course this means we are all even more at risk than before."
Orange cleared his throat. "Um, excuse me? If Black is telling the truth, that... that Thing, is dead. It's not a threat."
White shook her head. "I don't know about that, Orange. Remember that it was wearing a suit like ours. That's honestly very suspicious... I'd like to take a look at it for myself, if I can."
Black paled, shaking his head once again. "No, it might not be safe! Please, everyone - stay away from Electrical. At least for now."
White was about to protest, but before she could speak Blue cut her off. "You're both right. We must exercise extreme caution - but that means we cannot leave this devil of a creature alone. It may have only been stunned, and could still be alive. White, Green, and I will go to investigate." Turning to White and Green, his eyes grew stern. "We will bring weapons and keep our distance. I want to be sure it's dead and cannot hurt anyone on this base! Once we are sure it is dead, then and only then will White be allowed to take a look."
The two of them nodded, Green's silent form showing no hint of fear. White was clearly anxious, but Black knew she was eager to get close to the monster's body. She never had been able to tolerate uncertainty of any kind.
Blue cracked his knuckles and jerked his head toward the door, gesturing his selected teammates to follow him.
"We may as well go now, before any more time is lost."
Again they nodded, rising and following him out the door. Orange called after them, anxiety clear in his voice. "Be careful, you guys!"
