I slowly open my eyes, and I shoot myself straight up confused on where I am. I look around and I am in a small bed with snow white sheets.
"So you're awake?" I turn to see q girl with dirty blond hair who looks about a year or two younger than myself in a chair reading a magazine, "Welcome to Solitune," she says.
"What?" I ask confused.
The girl looks up from her magazine, "Solitune, where the Soli live. Don't tell me the daughter of the queen doesn't know what the Soli are."
"Wait, what? Solitune? Soli? Daughter of the queen? You must have the wrong person." I insist.
"I was just here to wait for you to wake up, and then call," she pauses, "that reminds me." She grabs a phone, dials the number, "she's awake... okay... yeah I can do that... bye." The girl hangs up the phone, walks over to a nearby closet, and grabs a stack of folded clothes and throws them at me, "Here put this on, there is a bathroom straight through that door, and if I were you I would try to wash up a bit."
I walk into the bathroom, and jump into the shower. The warm water felt nice on my skin. I felt as if it had been years since I had taken one. I hop out and put on a light blue shirt and a pair of jeans. I brush my hair and pull it up into a messy bun, and walk out to see the girl still reading her magazine in her chair. She looks up, "Well, it took you long enough. Follow me." Without a word I follow her through many halls, which are painted white with painting or portraits of people I couldn't recognize. "By the way my name is Jade."
"I'm Kim-"
"Kimberly Crossheart, I know," Jade pauses as we reach a vintage door, "Here we are." She then opens the door. I look and there is a sky blue rug leading deep into the room.
As Jade leads me across the rug, I look around and see the room is filled with warm, bright colors. We finally come to the end of the rug, where there are two thrones, but one noticeably larger than the other. Each throne displays many jewels around the outside golden rim; rubies, pearls, jade, and more I can’t even name. I was shocked to see what seemed to be ghosts crowded around the larger throne, discussing something which seems very important. Wait, did I just say ghosts?
“Your Majesty, I have brought to you Kimberley Crossheart.” Jade kneels on her knee and bows her head. Instinctively, I do the same.
“Thank you, Jade,” says a very familiar voice, but who I could not name. “If all of you could excuse us, I have some things I should discuss with my daughter.” Did I just hear that right? Daughter? I look up, and sure enough my mother, but ghostlike is sitting on the throne wearing a crown. As soon as everyone has left, I run to my mother, and at least try to embrace her. I look at her completely confused.
“Don’t worry Kimberley I will explain everything, but please sit,” Mom gestures to the smaller throne, and I take a seat.
“Mom? How are you…? I thought…” I couldn’t hold back my curiosity.
“Like I said I will explain everything. First, I am one of the Soli Spirits, but not only one of them, but also the Queen as you can see.”
“When did you become queen?” I ask.
“Since the day both my mother and father passed.”
“But if you are a ghost you can’t really die can you?”
“Actually yes, you can. Once you die in human form, you become a spirit, but only if you have spirit blood. After you die from your spirit form you live in another dimension, which we here don’t even know much about.”
“How come people like me and Jade are here? People who haven’t died in human form.”
“Jade is here because she is one of many Soli protectors, who help us when we need it to fight off the other spirit group the Quint.”
