I wake in a medium sized room with one small window. I'm on some kind of pale blue and white bed, there are strangers wearing blue uniforms around me. One comes close so pretend to sleep and she grabs my foot and unwraps something that was around it. I don't feel much but all is numb.
I look around but all I see is medication and blood tubes. I must be in some hospital room but the last thing I remember is jumping out the window. Another stranger in a blue uniform is coming my way.
"Hello" I say " Am I in a hospital?"
"Yup, you doing alright?" She replies
"I guess so but all is numb"
The next thing I know my mom is looking at me and I'm back at home.
"Whoa, what happened?" I ask
"Everything will be alright your back home" she says
"I know that, I don't remember much though how did I get to the hospital?"
"Well your dad arrived after you ran-"
"What?! Dad is here?"
"Yes, well he's at the grocery store." Says mom looking at me with that do not interrupt look
"Oh ok" I say sighing
Mom continued "so that's when he heard a scream coming from outside so we all came running and there you were lying on the ground looking half dead."...
Later that night...
"Mom dad still isn't here" I say as she helps me out of bed
"I know, maybe he met an old friend on the way home and wanted to stay a bit to say hi." Answers mom
"But wouldn't he have called?" I say looking confused
"Yes, he probably should have but you know your father"
There was a long moment of silence.
"Well it is time you should get to bed you know your only fifteen." She says
"It is only ten o'clock mom! I'm not a baby any more."
"Ok" she says sighing as if she wanted me to stay a baby
I'm a little worried, dad never came home this late.
"Uh, mom I think I'm going to go for some fresh air." I say
"Ok" she says humming
I walk towards her car keys so I can drive around town and see if I can find dad's car somewhere.
"Hon don't take my car keys. I know what your up to, the grocery store is not very far from here so you can go by foot. If your really that worried." Says mom
I can't believe she knew what I was doing. I leave the house and slam the door just a bit by accident. I'm very close to the store and I can see that no lights are on in there. That's when I see a crashed car in the middle of the road at the bottom of the hill that I just walked up. I run towards it with all my strength I think I recognize the car.
