Happy 6k reads!!! Tysm! x
—Dear Diary,
I was at my grandma's house with my brother for a week but now I'm home. It's summer break here in Riverdale and I'm happy I don't have school. I hate school. I rather stay at home with my dog, Hot Dog, and read my Nancy Drew books.
My brother is very annoying, but I love him. He always picks on me for wearing a beanie even when it's not cold outside and he steals my books. It's okay though, I always steal his comic books too.
My best friend is Josephine. I forgave her for stealing my hair tie and we are best friends again.
Uncle Charles gave me a new Nancy Drew book so now I will go and read that.
I will also play with Hot Dog.
I love my family and my friends a lot.Love,
Juliet- Guys? I'm home! - I heard Jughead's voice from the doorway and Juliet jumped down from the chair, leaving her diary and pen opened on the table. - Hi baby! - He added and soon after appeared in the kitchen with Juliet in his arms, while I was doing the dishes. - Hi Betts. - He said, leaning in and pecking my lips.
- Ew. - Juliet whined in his arm and I chuckled, looking at them.
- Where's your brother? - Jughead asks, putting Juliet back down on her small feet who runs upstairs yelling her brother's name.
- No running on the stairs, Jules! - I yell after her while wiping my hand with the kitchen towel.
- Did you get home early from work? I thought I was supposed to pick them up at my dad's. - He asked, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me closer to himself.
- Yeah, your mom called and said she dropped them off at my mom's. Charles said I could have the afternoon off. I have some paperwork to do anyway. - I answer, wrapping my arm around his neck and he hums before kissing my lips again, deeper this time.
- Mommy! Juliet took my crayons! - I hear a yell from upstairs.
- I'll go get them. - I add, giving him another peck before placing the towel down on the counter and walking upstairs, straight to his room.
- It's not true mommy! He said Hot Dog was his dog! Tell him he's mine mommy! -
- Guys, calm down. Jules, Hot Dog is a family dog. He's all of ours, okay? And why did you take your brother's crayons? - I asked, grabbing a few clothes from his bed to put them into the laundry.
- Because he said Hot Dog was his and he only loves him. -
- That's not nice, Jordon. Apologize from your sister. - I added, turning back to look at the dark-haired little boy sitting on the ground with a comic book in front of him. Jordon looks exactly like Jughead. There's no denying that he's his son. Archie even calls him Jughead Junior sometimes.
Juliet is blonde like me but her personality matches Jugheads. She loves to eat, hamburgers especially and she wears a beanie non-stop. Other than her appearance, her love of Nancy Drew, and her diary writing, she's a mini Jughead. Jordon, is a little bit more like me I guess, but both our kids are just smaller versions of Jughead.
- Hey bud! - Jughead appeared in the hallway and Jordon stood up, running towards him, and hugged his leg. He's only 5 and Juliet is only 4 so they still have a hard time reaching us, but they are both incredibly smart. Although Juliet doesn't know how to write, she speaks her mind as she scribbles down her own letters into her diary. That's the only way I know what she's been writing there.
- Daddy! I missed you! - Jordon said while hugging Jughead's leg. - Can we take Hot Dog on a walk? -
- Sure, get dressed. - He nodded, looking at me for a sign of agreement and I gave him a small nod.
- Come on Jules, let's put your shoes on. - I said, reaching my hand out for her to take it and lead her downstairs, grabbing her small converse shoes and help her put them on.
Hot Dog knew we were going somewhere so he was wagging his tail as I grabbed his leash. Jughead got him for Christmas last year and named him after his first dog.
Soon Jug and Jordon arrived downstairs, ready to go and we walked out of the house, Jughead holding Hot Dog's leash while the kids were walking in front of us, following the dog everywhere. He put his arm around me and pressed a soft kiss on my hair.
- Uncle Archie! Aunt V! - They yelled suddenly when we walked in front of Pop's. Veronica, Archie, and Josephine were on their way to go inside Pop's.
After Pop retired, his granddaughter Tabitha took over the diner and she made it into a huge business, getting a gas station out front and tables outside for when the weather's nice.
- Hi kiddos! How are you? - Veronica greeted them with a big smile.
- Hi guys. - We said as we walked up to them.
- Can we go inside and get milkshakes, please? - Jordon asked looking at us and I nodded. The three kids, the black-haired, the red-head, and the blonde ran inside the diner, leaving us alone in the parking lot.
- The week of freedom is over now huh? - Archie asked with a chuckle.
- Yeah, it was oddly quiet in the house without them. - Jughead replied.
- I missed them a lot, but they gotta visit Gladys sometimes. - I added.
- I know, it's like a piece of you is missing! - Veronica agreed with me. - I feel the same way whenever I have to go to New York without her. -
- Are you guys still coming over tonight? I've got the beer in the fridge. - Archie asked, looking at Jughead.
- I don't know, Betts? Are we? - He turned to me for an answer.
- Of course. It's your birthday, V. Wouldn't miss it. - I responded, looking at my best friend.
I saw our kids running out to have a seat at the table, and looked at my husband and my best friends. At that moment, I knew. Everything we suffered through was in order for us to get to this point in our lives.
