Chapter 5 - Getting to Know the Neko

{Eren's POV}

I soon walked up to the bedroom with Levi following behind me. We walked into the room and walked over to him before nudging the Neko to try and wake him up. Seems like he was tried as he tried to shove my hand away and hid himself under the blanket , the most that was poking out was his white fluffy tail which wagged in his sleep. I sighed softly and soon said
"Leland , come on. I know that you are awake. Do you want something to eat? Drink? Cuddles?"
I asked , looking down at him as I pulled the covers off of Leland , hearing the Neko groan in annoyance.

Levi seemed annoyed like always. Watching from the doorway I turned to him and sighed softly, getting up and walking over, kissing him in the cheek I soon say
"You know how to wake up people , you can do the same with him! Please Levi!"
I beg once again like some brat, and Levi looked up at me before looking at Leland in the bed. I watched him as he walked over and eventually after 10 more minutes of trying to convince Leland to wake up , we both managed to wake him.

{Leland's POV}

I woke up to the two humans who had taken me in, looking up at the two of them , I stayed laying on the bed and rubbed my eyes. I heard the two talk to me about wanting to take me in for a couple days until I was well enough to go back to my parents. I nodded at first with a smile but then soon enough I looked down, the smile that was once on my face disappeared and turned into a frown. Shaking my head. Like I had parents to go back too, I didn't even remember my parents.

Eren and Levi seemed confused on what I was trying to tell them. Eventually I gave in with trying to be quiet. I soon opened my mouth and soon said to them in the best way possible
"N-no...p..parents..."
I say , and almost immediately the two older ones knew that I was in fact an orphan , I hated the fact that I was. I closed my eyes for a moment before I felt Eren hugging me. I was hesitant at first but I soon hugged him back.

{Eren's POV}

"Gosh , I'm so sorry Leland...I didn't think about that when we found you"
I said to the Neko , keeping him close to me. Eventually I have puppy eyes to Levi , I wanted to keep this kid. He seems so nice , so smart. He was just lost and confused.
"Levi...please! We cant just kick him out! You know what the orphanage is like. If people see his cat ears and tail they will bully him! He looks so happy being here with us"
I begged , I kept begging and begging. Which each resin Levi brought out , I argued back with something. Even I was starting to tear up at how cold Levi was being. But eventually Levi gave in. I couldn't help but smile widely and brought Levi over into the hug , smiling.

This was it , we finally had a child to call our own. It was nice to know that Levi wanted this too. Although it took some begging. Eren , Levi and Leland. A family that was brought together by chance. Me and the others stayed in the hug for a while and kept each other close. Today was a special day after all.

{levi's POV}

It was around 7pm and night now and we all together as a family had just finished having food for the night. Eren had cooked up a delicious meal for 3 tonight over 2. I was sat there washing the dishes as Eren was helping Leland by finding out a bit more about him. Turns out the poor guy remembers he was originally a somewhat cat , waking up one morning half human he didn't know what to do. He tried asking around for help but he didn't know how to speak. People through the was strange. Levi sighed and soon commented after Leland had finished talking
"Some people around here are jackasses. Don't worry though Leland , if anyone is a jackass to you or Eren. I'll make sure they get that I love you both punched right into them. I mean that"

The other two soon began to laugh a little , Eren lover how protective Levi was. But he knew I couldn't help it. I was like that due to my job. Still being Captain of the scouts meant I was always looking out for people , not many actually liked me like Eren did. Speaking of scouts...
"You two , I have a scout mission coming up. Are you going to come see me off tomorrow?"
I asked , with the both of them having their faces go from happy to sad. I hated seeing the sadness in their eyes , but I knew that my job was like this for sudden call outs.

"There's a huge amount of titans heading this way and we don't want anything bad happening do we?"
I say to them both before walking over to them and hugging them
"I promise you that I'll come back ok?"
The two others looked up at me but nodded , Eren kept saying on how much he was going to and Leland stayed mostly silent , but did the ever so cat noise. It was going to be hard to leave them both for god knows how long. Hopefully just a couple days. But those days could turn into months.

"Come on , don't be so sad ok? You know that I won't die. I am called the Worlds Strongest Soldier after all"
I patted the twos head and then kissed both of their cheeks. It was going to be hard leaving, but I knew that in my mind that I was going to come back. No matter what.
