Chapter 10

That night Debbie slept half heartedly, stuck in a dilemma.

She kept changing sides the entire night , so much going in her head .

The next morning, she woke up fresh and with newly found optimism, positivity and enthusiasm.

She went downstairs and had her favourite breakfast which is pancakes with strawberries and Nutella.She was so vibrant but then she realized suddenly that she had to make it upto Alisha at school and how would she face her and figure it all out. She started thinking of plans and ideas to get her talking .

DEBBIE'S POV:

I started walking towards the bus station grabbing my bag and bottle and my coat .

My bus came and soon we reached school .I walked to my class and was silently cursing my uniform for being so irritating and uncomfortable when I saw Alisha sitting on the front bench with Luke.

I was shocked and had a quick eye contact with Ali .I acted as if I didn't care and went to the first bench ,two rows away from them.

The day went by with me having lunch alone in the corner of the school playfield .

I was so exhausted by the time I reached home.Luke apparently didn't know about had no clue about alisha and my argument . He asked me if I was free to hang out around 6 in the evening . And obviously denied his offer for obvious reasons .

NATALIE'S POV:

I lay on the couch in the living room watching the 'FRIENDS' marathon on comedy central when I saw a tired and exhausted Debbie entering the house through the main door .

"Hey! How was school debbs ?" I asked in excitement .

"Yeah.......ummmm , it was fine ," she replied vaguely.

"Everything okay at school? Is something troubling you ?"

"No no , I am good , just tired . It was one hell of a day .I think I should quickly grab a bite and then take a power nap so that I can complete my homework later."

"Yeah . Probably.I made some pasta .Left your portion in the refrigerator. You should get changed .I'll heat it up for you ." I said to lessen her burden ."

"Thanks a lot nat . I owe you one ."

The evening passed by and after dinner I had nothing to do but relax , so I simply lay on my bed and so many thoughts started rushing through my mind . I missed Alisha terribly.

I finally decided to call her . And so I did. I picked up my phone and searched for her number on FaceTime.She didn't pick up and tears started to swell up in my eyes . I tried again .

Finally after calling her around 20 times , she picked up and yelled at me .

Tears started streaming down my face .They were enough to melt her heart down and she talked to me and we sorted it all out .And no time were back to being the crazy us , telling each other all what happened during the day , which we both were dying to do.

Just like this , it was the near end of their senior year .Everyone got busy with what they had to do , which colleges and universities to apply in and what to wear to the senior year prom to get the Prom king/queen title.

Debbie was clueless as to who she would go with whereas the entire batch had found their partners for the prom.
