True Friends & Hard Times (Emblem 3)

Chapter 2

"Sup. I'm Drew." Yes. The one I wanted. I was smiling from ear to ear. "Hey, I'm Nicole." "It's a pleasure to meet you, Keaton texted me earlier and told me a little about you. But maybe you can tell me more?" Drew smirked after saying this. "Sure." I laughed. Seems like exactly what I wanted him to be. Cute and funny. Wesley then walked over and introduced himself to Alise and I, and gave us huge bear hugs. "I'm Keaton's brother Wesley, but call me Wes ladies, we'll be great friends." We all laughed and then Keaton came into the living room. "Everyone ready to eat?" He asked. Everyone answered with a yes. We all went into the kitchen and ate. When we were all done Drew walked over to me and asked, "wanna go check out the game room?" "Sure!" I said smiling.

When we walked into the game room I was blown away. They had air hockey, a pool table, a karaoke machine set up, a huge flat screen TV, an Xbox, and so much more. "Y'all must have so much money to be able to afford all of this." I told Drew. "Well, my dads a lawyer, my moms a doctor, and me and the boys help out a little." Drew told me. "How do y'all help out, when Wes and Keaton are in school, you work?" I asked. "Well, we're in a band." "OMG no way, that's so cool! Are you guys good?" I asked him. "Well, we came out in fourth place on a show The X Factor, so I'd say we're not too bad." Drew answered. I laughed. "Wait, I've so heard of y'all! What are you called again? Something with a 3?" "Yeah, Emblem 3." He Told me. I could not believe this. No wonder Keaton's so popular at school. At my old school a couple of Mine and Alise's friends were big fans of the show and talked about Emblem 3 all of the time. "I can't believe I didn't realize. It all makes sense now." I smiled at Drew. "Yeah, well believe it girl cause that's us." He laughed. He was so damn cute. "Wanna play a game of air hockey?" He asked. "Umm.. Hail yes!" I laughed. "I haven't played since I was a kid so don't laugh if I suck." I told him. "Aww, course not", he made a innocent face.

We'd been playing for about half an hour and had already played four games. We'd each won two. "Your not as bad as I expected Mrs. Beckman." Drew smirked at me. "Hey, how you know my last name, I never even got to tell you. Sorry about that." I laughed. "Keaton." He then flashed me another one of his totally sexy smiles. I could definitely get used to hanging out with him. I hope he's been having as much fun as I have. I checked the time. It was 6:30. "I'm sorry, I promised my mom I'd be home for dinner. I know I just ate here, but she hates when I change plans last minute." I told Drew. "Oh, yeah it's cool. I had a really nice time tonight and maybe you can come over again tomorrow?" He asked. "Yeah, I'd like that. Maybe I will.", I told him. He laughed when I said this. He walked over and gave me a cute little hug. He smelled so damn good. "Before I forget, what's your cell?" I gave it to him and he quickly called it so I'd have his. "Text me when you get home so I know you made it safely." "Will do." I melted when he told me this, it made it seem like he really cared. Which I hope was how he meant it too.

I walked into the living room where Wesley was watching TV and asked where Alise was. He told me her and Keaton were in Keaton's room. I didn't know which was his so I called her cell and told her to come on down that it was time to go. "Awe okay, give me a minute.", she said. Soon after, she came walking down the stairs with Keaton close behind. They sweetly hugged each other goodnight and I heard Keaton telling her to call him later tonight.

The entire car ride back we told each other how great our nights went and I told her about how Drew asked me to go back tomorrow and that I was. She asked if she could ride with me so she could see Keaton again. "Yeah that's fine.", I told her. We sat in silence for awhile. "Nicole?" "Yes?" ,I asked. "I'm really really starting to like him." She said grinning from ear to ear. "Awe, y'all two are so adorable. Keep it up girl, I think he's starting to like you too." This made her blush so she turned to look out the window.

We pulled into the driveway and I turned off the car. I texted Drew to let him know we made it and Alise did the same with Keaton. We got out and it was starting to drizzle so we quickly jogged into the house. Our house was the biggest in the subdivision. But it had to be, we had two families living in it. Our dads worked literally all the time. If they weren't working from their office they were working from home. So we didn't hear very much of them. We walked into the house and yelled at our moms "we're homee". They walked out of the kitchen and immediately asked us a million questions. Like how our first day was, who our friends were, and every other question you can possibly think of your mom asking you after your first day at a new school. We answered every last one of them expect for the one about our 'friends'. So they asked again. "Who are your new friends you were visiting?" "Well, mine is Drew." I answered. "And mine is Keaton.", Alise told them. "Their boys?!", our moms screamed totally excited and wanting to know every last detail, as I knew they would. So we sat down and told them everything they wanted us to and answered their questions as best as we could. When we finished, it was 8:00. We ate and went our separate ways to bathe, brush our teeth, clean our faces, etc. Then Alise and I met up in her room at 9:15. We got on Facebook and added the boys. Then we got on Instagram, and when we seen all the followers we were amazed. I mean I knew they were getting popular, but I had no idea how popular they really were. So we YouTubed them and listened to a few of their songs and I must say, we were their newest fans. They were amazing. I bought every song of theirs possible on iTunes and listened to them until I fell asleep. I woke up at 2:13 and realized I had fallen asleep in Alise's room still with my ear phones in my ears and their music still playing. I turned it off and looked over at Alise. She was sound asleep. I quietly tip toed back into my room, put my phone on charge, got into bed, and it wasn't long before I fell sound asleep too.

I awoke to my alarm screaming the country song "cruise" into my ear. I jumped to quickly shut it off before rolling out of bed and sleeplessly trailing off to the bathroom. I peed, half asleep. Then I brushed my teeth and flat ironed my hair until it was perfectly straight. I put on base, mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow. I thought I looked pretty decent. I had notifications on Facebook saying the boys had accepted my friend requests. I went downstairs to fix me a bowl of cereal. Shortly after Alise came downstairs smiling away. Alise is not known to be a morning person, but today she definitely was. "What's gotten into you?" I asked her. "Oh nothing, just looking forward to seeing Keaton." She smiled. I knew it. She definitely had her a little crushing happening. I have to admit, I was in a pretty good mood this morning too and just hoped the day would go by fast so I could see Drew again. At least she would see Keaton in a few at school.

After we both got done eating we decided to take Alise's car to school today. We got in and left for school arriving only 10 short minutes later. We checked ourselves out and when everything seemed to look good, we got out and arrived just in time because the home room bell was just ringing. We walked in and there Keaton was, smiling away at Alise. He waved to me and I allowed Alise to sit in my seat so she could be closer to him. Home room is only 15 minutes, but we're allowed to mingle whenever the announcements aren't on. I smiled watching Alise and Keaton flirting away with each other. I just wanted to see her happy, and she definitely was. The day went by smoothly. I texted Drew every time I got the chance and told him how excited I was to see him again. He said the same, and I hoped he meant it. Finally, the end of the day bell rang and we quickly got into Alise's car and headed to the boys' house. I texted our moms to inform them so they wouldn't worry. All my mom said was to be home for 10 so I asked her to tell Mrs. Bryan, Alise's mom, so she wouldn't worry either. 30 minutes later we arrived at their house. I don't know how Keaton beat us their, but I'm glad he did. Before we got out of the car I turned to Alise. "Ready?" I asked her. "Oh hail yes." She replied. We then got out of the car laughing and started walking towards the front door.
