I rolled over and looked at the time. It was 4:15. I still had a good while to sleep. I got up to use the bathroom and laid back down, but couldn't sleep. I started to walk downstairs to get a snack, and saw that my dad was downstairs getting a class of water. "Dad?", I called out. He turned around instantly. "Hey sweetie.", he walked over and hugged me. "What're you doing up?", he asked. "Just came down for a snack. I miss you.", I told him. "Daddy misses you too boo, but works been busy and this work building has great workers and is coming along excellent. Keep praying.", he smiled at me. "Okay, well I'm heading back up to bed.", I told him, grabbing a snack. "Love you babygirl". "Love you too daddy.", I mumbled half asleep.
I trailed back up to my room and into bed slowly, eating a granola bar. I fell asleep almost instantly. The next morning I got dressed and did my hair and make up, and brushed my teeth. It was my same old routine. Just a different style. I put on a pair of my capri's and a cute pink tank top, slipping on my grey toms. I had my hair straight and a little make up on. When I thought I looked decent enough, I took off downstairs for breakfast. I had a waffle and some chocolate milk. Alise finally came down to eat, looking all cute and such. She was wearing jeans and a white Polo button up shirt with her black toms. She sat down next to me and began eating. "Well don't you look cute.", I grinned at her. "I don't feel cute.", she replied. "What's wrong Alise"? "I didn't get much sleep last night.", she told me. "Why not?", I asked. "I just couldn't sleep. And Keaton fell asleep on me so I just laid there for hours...thinking.", she shrugged. "Thinking about what? Come on just get it out.", I told her. "What happens when our dads get ready to move us again and we're so hooked on these guys it just kills us.", she told me sadly. "They won't Alise. Think about the present and take it one day at a time. We're juniors in high school, maybe we'll be lucky and we're here for good. My dad told me just this morning that everything's looking good. I took that as a good sign.", I smiled at her faithfully. "I hope your right. I don't need a broken heart again.", she told me gloomily. "You and me both Alise.", I said giving her a hug. "Come on, lets go to school."
We arrived at school fairly early. Alise met up with Keaton and I found Maggie along with her friends Katie and Lizzie. I asked if I could sit with them at their bench. They accepted my offer and we started a conversation about new movies coming out in theater. "Hey, let's go see one this weekend.", Katie suggested. "Yeah, sounds great.", Lizzie accepted. "I'm down.", Maggie agreed. "What about you?", Katie asked me. "Thanks for the offer, I'd love to. But I'm spending time with this dude I've been talking to.", I said smiling. "Who is he?", Maggie asked, interested. "His name is Drew.", I answered. "Drew who?", Katie asked me. "Chadwick", I quickly answered. "Isn't he in a band with Keaton and Wesley Stromberg?", Lizzie asked me suddenly. "Yeah.", I laughed. "Girl get you some.", Katie teased. "I've heard of him.", Maggie told us. "Everyone says that, but no one knows where they'd heard of him.", I told her. "He was on the show the X factor. Their band is called Emblem 3.", I finished. "How awesome.", Maggie remarked. Then the bell rang so we all scurried off to our home room classes.
I didn't know it, but I had Katie in my home room. I sat on side of her and we talked the whole time. I never even noticed when Alise and Keaton walked in until she texted and asked where I was, not seeing me in the back of the class with Katie. I looked up and immediately spotted her, calling her name and waving so she knew I was in there. Then I got a text from her. *whos that?* *katie. Friend of Maggie and now me* *oh, new one now?* *try not to sound too happy*, I texted her sarcastically. *sry. See ya later?* *deff*, I texted back. I went back to talking to Katie until the bell rang and I went on to my first hour class, which was Fine Arts, with Maggie.
She walked in smiling and sat down next to me with the biggest grin. "Ooh, what's gotten into you?", I winked. "So, I was just talking to Wesley. He asked me to come over this evening.", she said happily. "Awe, that's so cool. I'm going too." She was a little confused. "Drew lives with them. Their practically his brothers and their parents are like his". She caught on now. "This will be so fun, if me and Wesley could become a thing and you and Drew would. We could do cute couple things all the time.", she said getting excited about the future. "Yeah. And don't forget Alise and Keaton.", I laughed. "Oh right, your friend.", she said. She must've forgotten about her. "I'd like it if you and Alise could become friends too.", I told her. "Yeah, maybe.", she agreed.
I quickly went through all my classes and before I knew it, school was over and it was the weekend. The parking lot was full of teenagers going crazy, excited about parties, or whatever else they had planned. Alise and I got into the car, and headed over to see our boys. I texted our moms, reminding them not to worry. They said we had no certain time to be home, but be reasonable, and turn on the alarm when we get in. No certain time? Oh hail yeah, I could get used to this on weekends, I thought to myself. I freshened up my make up in the small passenger seat mirror and turned to Alise, "how do I look"? "Cute.", she responded. "What about me?", she asked. "Adorable. As always.", I laughed.
