What are we to do when times get tough? I've never pictured a life without love, that's what I dream of the most. There's beauty everywhere I look, no matter how gray the sky is, or how wet it is outside, the smell of wet cement and the sound of rain make up for it.

I'm looking out the big, old window in my english class. The sound of my teachers voice plays in the background as I take notice of what's outside. There's a few skipping, a few just arriving, and recognizing the few students who have a free period, how lucky they must be.

I snap back into reality just in time.

"Naomi, can you read where we left off in chapter 5?" Kurenai sensai asks.

"Thus the young and pure would be taught to look at her, with the scarlet letter flaming on her breast—at her, the child of honorable parents—at her, who had once been innocent—as the figure, the body, the reality of sin."

I finish reading as I cough anxiously.

"very good, thank you."

Sighing in relief, and thanking myself for planning my paragraph ahead of time, I still shake as I start to relax. Just 3 more months and I'm done with high-school, the thought comforts me.

"U-uh hey sorry to bother you, but do you by chance have a pencil I can borrow?"
Snapped out of my thoughts by a gentle voice, I smile at her and nod.

"Of course, give me a second" I rummage through my pencil case and pull one out for her.

"Here y'a go hinata-san"

"Thank you" She smiles back at me as she continues taking notes from the book.

I continue listening to the teacher read, as we follow along. She's cut off mid sentence, as the bell goes off signaling lunch. Sighing as I pull out my bento, and decide to just eat in my home room.

"HEY SASUKE"

I turn my head at the sound, and see a raven haired boy wince.

"What Naruto?" The boy replied

Laughing, Naruto rubs the back of his neck before he continues speaking.

"Do you wanna come have lunch with us under the gazebo?"

Us, he's referring to him and his group of friends.
They're all well known, and have their differences. Popular with their looks, but also in the fact they play sports, Konoha high has won all three years in a row.

There's Neji, he's their wide receiver, Kiba who plays center, Choji's their guard, shikimaru as the line backer. Most famously Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke uchiha. Both quarter backs, but Sasuke being their captain. There's a total of 11 players But those guys are the ones who get all the attention. It's not a bad thing though.

"Might as well" Sasuke replies.

Scooting back his chair a little too hard, most likely on accident, bumps it against my desk knocking a book off. I reach out to grab it on instinct when a hand beats me to it.

"Sorry about that, Honda-san" I look up as the smooth voice speaks to me. A blank expression, but kind dark eyes stare down at me.

"Ah it's okay it's just a book." Softly smiling back I lay the book back on my desk. But once I look up again I see the two boys walk out the door.

Alone in the classroom I peer out the window again, periodically checking my phone. I notice the group at the table. They're all messing around as usual, joking around and laughing with one another. I notice the raven again, he smiles softly his shoulders lift in a slight chuckle, he looks up at the window as we make eye contact.

I quickly look away as I feel like a creep admiring the group of people. Almost wishing I had friends like that. I'm just too busy taking care of my mom. I love her to death and just couldn't bare to leave her alone. She's been dealing with a lot recently, her body slowly getting weaker, without any of us knowing what's wrong, multiple tests and still no answers. I'm worried.

Glancing back at my phone and deciding to just scroll through instagram the remaining 5 minutes of lunch. I like a few posts from old friends, current classmates and family. I get bored so I set it down and finish the last of my lunch before break ends.

And once it does I get ready for our next subject, which is unfortunately math.

Students start walking back into our classroom. One by one, until most of everyone is seated missing 2 people.
That is until there's a loud crash and a blonde comes stumbling in.

"Naruto, I told you to look where you were going"

"Why do you always have to be such a sussy baka"

"Shut up, you hear it once and continuously have to call me it? I'm never sending you memes again"

loud laughs from Naruto and a grunt from Sasuke. The dark haired boy finally steps into the class room, we meet eye contact, for the second time today.
A blank expression, with curios eyes. I look away in order to not make things weird. The guys probably tired from all the attention from people he already gets, So I look away in hopes he doesn't make too much out of it.

Sitting down in-front of me, careful not to scoot his chair out too much, he takes out his own math book, rummaging through his bag he sighs and turns around,

"Do you by chance have a pencil I could borrow?"

the second time someone asks me.

I just hand him the one I'm holding so not to make him wait.

"Thanks" he says with a small smirk as he turns back around.

Never have I interacted with the Uchiha so much, besides handing back graded papers. He seems a lot nicer than I would have imagined.

Rummaging though my pencil bag once again, noticing I only have one pencil left, and just hoping I get through the day without someone else asking to use my writing utensils.
