Beast didn't leave his room for the whole day. He was back to his dark place, where the shame and loneliness were so overwhelming that he couldn't even bear the thought of leaving his room and finding the castle to be empty again. The next morning, he heard a quiet, almost scared knock on the door. He opened the door and found that one of his staff members had left him Belle's notebook and letter. The Beast read the letter and glanced through the notebook. He knew that everything that Belle wrote was more than true. Even though he didn't want to admit, he knew that there were a lot of feelings he was hiding from himself, that grew so big and powerful that were now almost controlling Beast's life. As much as he wanted to get back to his lonely shell, he couldn't get Belle's words out of his mind that raised unfamiliar, almost encouraging and empowering feelings to the point that he almost started to believe in his strength.
Throughout the next several days, with each scroll through Belle's messy notebook, an unknown urge to explore the outside world grew stronger and stronger. After two weeks of trying to repress his desire to leave the castle, he at last found the power to do so, grabbed some lunch and left for the outside world. As soon as the Beast left the castle, with each new breath of fresh air, the memories of his previous adventurous life came flooding back. He now remembered what he loved about life so much and how he found beauty in his surroundings. He even remembered, where his name came from and why everyone called him Beast because of his uncontrollable spirit and boundless energy.
Beast wandered and wandered, and continued to explore. And even though one day, he knew he wanted to find Belle again and continue the journey of their friendship, he knew that he first needed to find a path that would bring him closer to himself.
