Another scream brought me out of my trance, and I realised I needed to help whoever it was. I started running towards the screams as fast as I could, and when I burst into a clearing I took in the scene. There was at least seven rogues and a little girl who looked about five or six. The wolves were standing in a semi-circle around her, then I figured out who was going to make the first attack from body language. Just as the wolf leapt; I jumped in front of the girl shielding her with my body. I held my arm up to block his attack, he bit down harshly on my forearm but before he could break the bone I ceased the bottom of his jaw and pulled down so hard it dislocated, no, detached from his skull. I tore it right off, his throat coming with it; causing blood to spray all over me and a little on the young girl behind me. The wolf collapsed whilst the other's stared at me with shock, and then I noticed the feeling of something warm running down my arm; causing me to look. I found a nasty bite oozing blood, but I ignored it and looked back up at the threat.

I watched them and found the next attacker before she came at me. She tried to claw me across my exposed stomach; but I moved so she only gave me a small cut on my lower thigh. She didn't see it coming; as I did a round house kick to the temple with so much force it cracked her skull, killing her. The next wolves that came at me I killed quickly by snapping their necks and other more gruesome ways of killing them. I finished driving a branch into the heart of the rogue I was dealing with thinking that was the last of them; I relaxed when I heard the girl scream, my head snapped up. She was confronted by the rogue who was about to kill her, I sprang into action leaping at them and in one fluid motion I snapped the wolfs' neck and grabbing he girl out from under the wolf so it wouldn't fall on top of her. I manoeuvred myself mid-air so my body would touch the ground; not the girls. I slammed into the ground and skidded across the dirt until I slammed into a log which brought us to a stop. I knew my bare back was scrapped and bleeding as well as the other wounds I had received during the fight. The little girl lying on top of me was crying and hugging me tightly and I knew I needed to comfort her, so after all this time I decided to speak.

'It's okay, they're gone; you're safe with me.' I rubbed her back gently. 'What's your name?' I asked quietly in a soothing voice.

'Avril.' I smiled as I thought about the name and realised how pretty it was.

'Your name is beautiful, Avril.' She smiled into my chest.
