Ginny knew. Harry didn't know how, but she knew. It had been a small slip-up, really - Harry had to give her more credit than that - but it had been enough to make him aware. Harry's mind unwillingly divulged back into the memory.
He was walking down the stairs and to the kitchen for breakfast, after being rather irritable during dinner the previous night. Draco hadn't come downstairs since he'd slammed Ron's door shut the day before. Harry had been seething at the table, before quietly taking up a plate of chicken for Draco.
This morning, Harry had the empty dishes in his hand, and his grip on them increased when he spotted Ginny standing in the entrance to the kitchen. Ginny glanced down at the plate and exhaled. "Oh, Harry, you brought him dinner. That's good. You two are really sweet to each other, I wish-" and then Harry's eyebrows had risen, and his grip on the plate faltered. Ginny had covered her mouth abruptly with her hand, her eyes going wide. "I- I mean, it was nice of you, is all. Wait, Harry, I didn't mean-" she fumbled when Harry shoved past her, slamming the dishes into the sink and locking himself in the bathroom.
And now Harry was in said bathroom, after fifteen minutes of pacing. He looked in the mirror, at his flushed face. He'd known that a few people were probably suspicious, but Ginny knew for sure. This was bad. But Harry was grateful, in a way. He supposed that out of all the people here, Ginny was the one he'd want to know the truth first. Although, he supposed that if she knew, Hermione probably did too; they had been spending a lot of time together lately. Harry thought back to that day in the kitchen, when the two girls had walked in on him and Draco. He put his head into his hands and groaned. It had been painfully obvious that even then his friends had known. Or at least suspected. But it was okay. Wait, no it wasn't. Hadn't him and Draco also speculated about the twins knowing the other day?
Oh Merlin, Harry thought, placing his face into his palms again, shaking his head. But he consoled himself with the fact that if the twins knew, then why would they have pulled that ridiculous prank yesterday? Their whole purpose for doing that was to find out 'which pretty lady the young Malfoy fancies,' after all. Harry sighed and slowly unlocked the bathroom door, finding Ron standing there with a glaring expression on his face.
"Mate. I've been pounding on the door for the past five minutes! I had to go." Harry looked up at his friend's contorting face sheepishly. "Er, sorry, Ron. Wait- you had to go?" Ron simply flushed and pushed past him, closing the door in his face. Harry shook his head and laughed, heading back upstairs to get ready for the day.
Meanwhile, Draco sat upstairs on the mattress on the floor, still bundled up in his blankets. His stomach growled, and he knew he would have to go downstairs for breakfast soon. He watched as Harry pulled a bright red jumper over his head, and silently flicked his wand, turning the jumper a striking emerald green. He smirked as Harry turned to him, throwing a pillow at his face. "You git," Harry said, his words full of mirth.
