hi guys, so i really love drarry stories that take place at the burrow, however i've noticed that there really isn't that many. so, i got frustrated and decided to make my own lmao. hope u enjoy! (also, i don't really have a specific updating schedule but i'll probably fall into one once i get more into the story).

Deep breaths, Draco thought. In and out. He stopped walking and closed his eyes, desperately trying to clear his head of the thoughts that were muddling his mind.

"Draco!" snapped Snape, who was now a few feet ahead of him. "Come on. I don't want to be here anymore than you do, but you've got no choice. I..." his godfather's eyes seemed to soften, but only for a minute before he shook his head and beckoned for Draco to keep walking with a swish of his cloak. It was okay, though, for Draco knew that his godfather had a soft spot for him in his heart.

Draco gave a deep sigh and kept walking, the rickety structure of the Burrow now clearly visible against the pale blue sky. It really was a sight; Draco almost snickered at the thought of himself standing next to the structure, with his polished demeanor and all. But then he frowned; as of right now, he had no right to find any humor in anything. He didn't know exactly what had happened, but all of a sudden the manor had been engulfed in such a sharp chill that Draco hadn't been able to stop shivering, not even when Snape had come into his room and calmed him, telling him that he was going somewhere safe. All Draco knew was that his parents were gone. Were they in trouble? Not necessarily, he told himself. For his mother's sake, Draco willed them to be okay. Snape would not tell him anything, and Draco had the sneaking suspicion that he didn't know anymore than his godson anyways.

Draco clutched the handle of his hastily packed together trunk. He had managed to grab a few of his favorite clothes, his hair and skin products, and... some other, more special, things. Suddenly, Draco realized; he let out a gasp, quickly covering it up with a cough when his godfather turned around sharply to look at him. Potter... Harry. Harry would be there. At the Burrow. Of course he would. Him and the Mudbl- er, muggleborn would be there at the Burrow, being like family to the Weasley's, after all.

Shit, Draco thought. He obviously hadn't had time to compose a letter to Potter, and now he just knew that his boyfriend would absolutely freak when he saw Draco at the steps of the Burrow. Boyfriend. The word still felt foreign in Draco's mind. But it made him feel happy, happier than he'd ever been. It made him feel fuzzy, and normally Draco would chase these Hufflepuff types of feelings away, but with Potter... he didn't have to hide. He could gaze into those green eyes that were seemingly induced with Veritaserum, and the words would just flow from his mouth, and Potter was always just so comforting and knew what to say. Of course, they still had their arguments; they were still Malfoy and Potter, after all. But they always made up.

They had officially gotten together two months ago, however they both knew that it was inevitable for them to continue their facade of animosity at school. So, they did; they would compose fights whilst wrapped in each other's arms, and the next day would recite a perfectly rehearsed brawl, each holding themselves back from casting an immediate healing charm on the other. But it was bearable, because they knew it wasn't real; they had each other, and nothing else mattered but that.

Draco felt a small smile creep up onto his face. Being at the Burrow wouldn't be much different from Hogwarts, really. They had plenty of practice with the feigned animosity, though the Burrow was going to be a tight space and it might be hard to find a place for a quick snog without the seemingly endless passageways contained in Hogwarts. But nevertheless, if Potter stayed calm and allowed Draco to assure him that nothing terrible was happening, the summer could truly be looking up. Draco would worry about his parents, of course, but he knew his father's status. It was very unlikely that they were in much trouble. He was sure his mother was upset at having to leave Draco so suddenly, but the fact that they were able to contact Snape put Draco at ease.
