I drove down the familiar road towards the house my mother is staying at. My grandparents and I would always come down here every day after school. It was tough not being able to have my mom around me all the time but I cherished the time I had with her. The doctors say she's getting better but they don't know if she will ever be able to leave. As long as my mom is alive, I'm fine with what the doctors say.

I pulled into the gravel driveway and parked under a large tree. The sun was already shinning, it being a nice warm day; a perfect day to go on a walk.

I signed in and made my way to her room. 26...25...24...23 here we are. I knocked before entering. She was sitting on her bed watching the news without a care in the world. She looked like her old self again. She gained all her weight back being here, she no longer looked like a twig. She looks healthy.

"Hi mom." I smiled.

"Honey your here!" she says standing and walking over to me.

"I wouldn't leave without coming to see you first, do you want to go walk on one of the trails?" I asked

"Yes I need to get out of this room." She smiled.

After getting permission from one of the guards we walked down the first trail listening to the beautiful sounds of nature. We walked in silence not one of those awkward silences but a soothing one, just enjoying each others company for the short time we have together before I leave. We walked around for a good hour before I had to get back; me needing to pick up Sydney.

We said our goodbyes and as I was walking out my mom said something but I didn't hear her. "What was that mom?" I asked
