Follow Through

(Ava's POV)

I went to school and it was the same in math, Ethan kept on staring at me and I would look away. I also saw him in the halls but he only sometimes looked at me. A few weeks later I had to ask my English teacher a question about an upcoming essay at the end of the day. I asked her and started to walk down down the hall to the closest exit when all of a sudden Ali and a few members of her posse came walking down the hall. I decided not to turn around because that meant it would take me longer to get to my mom and she has something to do. I decided to suck it up and just walk past them and hope they don't say anything. I kept my head down and tried to avoid their gaze when all of a sudden Karina, one of Ali's best friend's quickly stopped infront of me. I tried to turn around but her other friend Julia stepped in the direction I was going in which caused me to be stuck. My back was to the lockers and Karnia and Julia to my sides with Ali infront of me. "Wow you're trying to hook up with Ethan you little slut." I gave her a confused look "Um no I don't even really know him. He's ju-" Karina interupted me, "Bullshit you know damn well you like him and using your little suicidal girl act as an attraction to him and its working and you better stop." I tried to squeeze between them but Julia pushed me back,  "Where do you think you're going? Go find Ethan so you guys can have fun." She winked and I was disgusted, I would never do that! I was about to asnwer when I was hit by bullets, and they came fast. "Bitch, you're worthless, Fat, Ugly, I'd be so disappointed in myself if I were you, Kill yourself please and do people a favor, hey I have a cabin Nevada with a cliff near by you should come and jump off it, Nobody likes you, You're the reason everything is always messed up." And those are the only ones I caught. I tried, I truly did, I tried to say something, do something but I couldn't. I was swimming and a 1000 pound ancor was bringing me down and I couldn't do anything and nobody else would. Momma always told me not to cry infront of others. That it was a sign of weakness, a sign that I lost and they won. Whenever I feel like crying to just hum a song that means something to me.  Slowly I slid down the lockers as my vision blurred with tears. I huddled into a ball, my legs tightly pressed to my chest. My head down and my hands in my ears blocking out the noise and hummed. I could still hear that they were there though, but I planned to stay there until they left. A few minutes pasted and I felt a hand on my arm. I knew it was one of those girls. "Please go away, please just leave me alone," I pleaded. I looked up to see him bending down infront of me with a caring look in his eyes, Ethan Dolan.

( Ethans POV )

Grayson and I decided to get a football application from the office so we made a trip to the office. We got our forms and I saw that my science teacher was there. I realized I forgot my science book for my science homework.  We walked out of the office. "Crap, Grayson I forgot my book I'll be right back." He said, "Sure I'll tell Cameron you'll be coming soon" I turned and went to get my books and when I turned the corner I saw the mean girl from math. She was with her friends and they were surrounding somebody. They were saying very rude and hurtful things to whoever it was. One of the girls moved aside a little and I saw it was Ava. I remembered my promise and yelled "What the fuck are you guys doing!?" They must've thought I was a teacher or something because they quickly turned around with a scared look. They calmed down when they realized it was only me. They walked up and smiled "oh hey I'm Ali, this is Julia and Karina." Said the bitch and they both smiled.  My mouth dropped and my eyes widened. "Are you fucking kidding me?" I said slowly "How could you say that so nonchalantly when you were just bullying her." I pointed to Ava. " Oh she's fine it's just an act, what an attention whore." Julia said and rolled her eyes. "Oh my god, you guys are such bitches, can you not see you're hurting her feelings she's crying, you made her cry. Can't you see she's broken and it's all your fault. You guys are so selfish all you guys are about are looks and guys an-" I was cut off by Karina "You think we're pretty?" I was in shock. How more rude could they get? "You have to be kidding me. Get out, leave! NOW!" They started to walk away when Ali said "It's not like we care anyway, you're not some new Super Man calm down." I was so annoyed I had to say "You're right, you only care about size." They all turned around and shot me a dirty look completely in sync. I ran to Ava and I put my hand on her arm. She must have thought I was one of the girls because she said, "Please go away, please just leave me alone." I started to say something when she looked up at me and I saw her beautiful brown eyes filled with tears.
