The two boys stayed in each other's arms for a while before Izuku broke the silence, quietly suggesting they should leave. It had already gotten dark. The two boys walked back to their dorm, where lights had gone out some time ago. As Izuku walked towards his room, Shoto called out to him, using his first name. Despite the situation, Izuku's heart couldn't help but give a jolt as the older boy came up from behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Izuku turned his head up and their eyes met.
S: You're sleeping in my room today, Izuku. I won't do anything. I just.. can't leave you alone.
Izuku nodded, his heart beating out of his chest. Did that mean Todoroki didn't trust him anymore? Why couldn't he leave him alone? What had he done?
As the two boys made their way to Shoto's dorm, the silence was so thick, it felt like one would need Kirishima's teeth to help cut it. When they reached, the white-and-red-haired boy switched on the lights. There was one tatami mat on the floor and one bed. (YALL KNOW WHAT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN RIGHT YOU HAVE TO I COULDNT RESIST) The green-haired boy made a move to sleep on the floor, but Shoto resisted. The two went back and forth, arguing over who slept on the floor. Eventually, Izuku gave in and lay on the bed. Even after lights out, he couldn't sleep.
Finally, after rolling around in bed Izuku finally shut his eyes, only to be awoken by an awful nightmare about his dead mother. She was telling him her death was his fault. Tears started streaming from the teen's eyes. He sat up, put his head into his knees, and grabbed his hair. It was all his fault. Why didn't he save her? Some hero in training he was. He should have died, why was he so useless? He should have gone not his mother-
His train of thoughts was broken by the feeling of someone's arms around him. He widened his eyes. Todoroki was sitting on the bed behind him, spooning him. Izuku nervously chuckled, apologising for waking Shoto. Todoroki merely shook his head, whispering, "Izuku..don't blame yourself. Everything happens for a reason. The accident wasn't your fault. It wasn't your fault for not saving her. it was my father's. I can't bear to see you like this. So please.." Tears bloomed in Shoto's beautiful blue and grey eyes.
He couldn't hold it in anymore. Izuku screamed while crying. He let it all out in Todoroki's arms on that night. Little did the 2 kids know that Bakugou heard the whole conversation from the room across [shut up and go with it] and he was crying too. Izuku had been through so much.. And he was a jerk, for such a stupid reason. Yet the green-eyed angel always stayed smiling, he didn't want anyone to worry about him, always putting himself last.
The rest of the students were sleeping peacefully, but Todoroki, Bakugou, and Midoriya were the 3 who cried all night long and emerged teary-eyed from their respective rooms the following morning.
