“You have to trust me,” he whispered cupping her tear stained cheeks in his hands. Her hands clung to his biceps in a grip, fingers digging into his skin. The tan color of his skin faded white while her nails dug down creating marks of red underneath her touch. Sniffing she nodded fast, peering up at him through her blurred glossy eyes.

Harley bit the bottom of her lip until she could taste the salt of blood in her mouth while she tried to muffle herself from sobbing. Nash shook, letting his hands fall from her cheeks to intertwine his fingers with hers. Her body matched his, shaking underneath the pouring rain coating their bodies. “I love you,” he whispered to her, bringing her hands to his lips and placing a kiss on the back of her hand, her palm, and then each finger.

Closing her eyes, she focused on the feel of his lips against her skin while she allowed her sobs to escape the back of her throat. “Harley,” he said, lifting her chin in his right hand, “do you trust me?” Harley nodded in his hand with a stutter, “yes.” She whispered, “I do trust you Nash.”

A small smile spread along Nash’s face before cupping her cheeks and smashing his lips to hers. His hands tightened around her face while her hands snug around his waist, gripping his sides. Their bodies molded together, glued by the rain while they kissed. His lips pressed hard against hers in passion causing her to whimper.

Harley pulled away to catch her breath, her chest rising up and down while she inhaled and exhaled. Nash’s hands stayed upon her cheeks as he stared into her dark swollen eyes. Her hands covered his holding them in place while they sat in place.

Nash sighed with a nod before letting his hands drop for her cheeks, leaving her skin chilled. She watched him as he opened his backpack and dug through the contents. Her gaze bored into the green material, not once breaking away as he continued to pull out items.

“Harley,” he muttered watching her stilled frame bore into his bag, “Harley.” “Hmm,” she hummed snapping her head up to look at Nash. His green eyes stared back into her while his arm reached out to hers, “here,” he pushed the object towards her hand.

“Nash,” she choked crossing her arms over her chest, holding herself. He took a step towards her, fear rushing over him. His hand gripped her shoulder, “Harley take it,” he said wide eyed, shaking her shoulders, “you said you would, you trust me.”

Harley’s body shook from beneath Nash’s touch and the fear and nerves welling up inside her stomach. She shook her head, tears cascading down her face, “I ca-can’t,” she stuttered. Harley whimpered feeling his hand tighten around her right shoulder, “Nash please,” she turned her head, looking everywhere around her instead of his face. “No,” he said, his voice filled with fear, “I love you, you love me,” he laughed, “it’s the only way.”

His hand left her shoulder to cup her chin, forcing her to look him in the eyes. She stared into his eyes, the green ones that once dazed her, filling her with love; now mimicking the darkness of the sky, no longer shining bright. “We love each other,” Nash whispered kissing the corner of her lips, “we love each other,” he repeated placing the cold heavy object in her free hand. His hand covered hers, forcing her hold until he could let his hand fall.

Harley’s teeth chattered while she looked down at her left hand, glaring at the silver object in her hand. Her fingers traced the outline of the barrel before placing her index finger next to the trigger. She looked back up at Nash who was staring down at her breathing heavily.

She watched him nod at her before bringing the gun in front of her body, separating both their bodies. “It’s the only way,” she whispered with dark eyes. “The only way,” he finished placing his finger over hers on the trigger.
