*Not Iris*
"Iris.Iris.Iris.Iris" Swear to god if they say my name again and touch me I will punch them in the face. "Iris." Okay I lied I wasn't going to punch anyone in the face. "Ugh what do you want? Can't you see I'm trying to sleep here?" I snuggled into the covers deeper enjoying the warmness of the covers.
But that moment was ended when I felt the cold on my body as the covers were ripped off of me. I sat straight up looked at the person and slapped them. I walked across the room and grabbed my covers getting back in bed. "Ouch iris what the hell is your problem?" "My problem I dont have a probelm. What happened was that you come in here poke and push me yelling my name like I'm a dead dog. Then take my covers off of me so I feel like I'm in the north pole. Does that answer your question? Why can I not just fall asleep and be left there to sleep my amazing sleep?" I said with the pillow over my head. "Well I don't care cause Kasey has called non-stop and it's annoying so answer her please I did it once and she didn't shut up." Nathan said still rubbing his cheek. "God I'm glad you didn't punch me I would have a broken jaw if you did." "You will if you don't leave." I said sitting up.
Nathan gave me my phone and left and I saw I had thirty seven missed calls in and hour and eighty two texts from Kasey. I dialed her number and waited.
"IRIS" Kasey yelled through the line making me almost throw my phone. "What do you want isn't it like eight in the morning or something?" "No its not it's four in the afternoon." "Your point, may I ask?" I knew this but who wakes up this early anyway?
"How, How does anyone sleep as long as you?" "It's a gift my friend. But forget about that, why have you called so many times?" "Oh yeah I just wanted to say hey." "You couldn't just say hey one in a text?" "Hmm let me think about it...No." Well isn't she a little sweetheart? "Oh my god Kasey I will beat your ass next time I see you." I said gritting my teeth. "Oh please no. I don't want you to cause last time you did I had bruises for weeks." I loved when Kasey pleaded it showed her weakness. "Sorry Kasey I just really wanna give you a black again" I said laughing at the end. "Why don't you just take your anger out on a punching bag?" "Kasey no I'm not doing that anymore don't bring it up please?"
I used to box in Kaseys garage with her brother. Once I told my brothers they banned me from boxing but of course I snuck out most nights to go box. It was a way for me to let off my anger. "Iris? You still there?" "Huh? Yeah I'm here." "Okay well I have to go I need to do a couple of things." "Okay bye twat I love you." "Bye shithead love you too." I hung up the phone throwing it on my table and got up.
It's Sunday so tomorrow we have school. Yay! I'm so excited! Please note the extreme sarcasm here. My school is a shithole. It only looks nice but really it's a piece of shit.
I got into the bathroom and looked at my face in the mirror. Brown hair brown eyes ugly face yeah same old me I was yesterday. I turned on my shower and got undressed. I slipped into the shower standing under the warm water. The feeling relaxes my muscles and I feel a better. I wash my hair and body and got out. I put my hair in a towel and wrapped myself up. I walked back into my room opening my closet. I grabbed a grey muscle tee and some grey Nike leggings. I put my purple Nike sports bra and my Nike running shoes.
Yeah Nike is my favorite so what? I dried my hair and put it up into a ponytail. I walked downstairs and grabbed an apple and filled up my water bottles. "Going out for a run?" Mom asks coming out from her room. "Umm...yeah" I replied putting the top on. "Don't be gone to long okay." "Yeah" I walked out of the kitchen and grabbed my phone and headphones. I got to the door and saw my mom looking at me. She looked worried. "Love you be safe." "Yeah love you"
What made my mom say that. I know she loves me but she doesn't say that anymore. We're so distant.
I was running to the park to go run the woods. There is a tree house a little brown one. It's not close to the edge. It's deep into the woods. It's my thinking place. Only one person knows about it. My dad. He's the one who built it. He told me to not tell anyone so I didn't.
"Iris I have a surprise for you." My dad said coming into my room. "Let me see. Let me see." I said eagerly. "Oh well its not here we have to go on a little trip to get to it." He said smiling. "Well what are you waiting on let's go" I pushed dad out of my room and he took me to the car. The whole ride I was taking guesses on what my surprise is. Nothing was close. "We're here." My dad said turning around to look at me. I git of of the car and stood there. "Dad, this is the park." I said looking up at him like he was the dumbest man on the planet. "This is not your surprise. But I do have to tell you it's a lot of walking to get to it. Sure your up to that?" He was squatting in front of me now. "Only if you carry me half way." I putting my hand on his forhead. "Okay, but only if you carry me the other half. Deal?" I thought for a second. "Deal" we shook our hands and started walking towards the woods. "Dad, I thought there was bad things in the woods?" I asked nervously holding his hand. "Yes there is but they are the ones that are afraid. Don't let them get to your mind and make you think they are bad. And I promise I won't let anything bad hurt you." He squeezed my hand and walked on.
"Okay open your eyes" I opened my eyes and my jaw dropped. "Do you like it?" He asked hopefully. "Of course I do! Daddy I love it so much!" I squealed running to give him a hug. He picked me up and brushed hair out of my face. "Now promise me one thing. Never ever tell anyone about it. Promise?" "I promise. It's our little secret."I climbed the ladder and pushed the door open. I grabbed the battery operated light and turned it on. There was a little bed with a blanket and a pillow. Some nights I would sneak out and stay up here where they can't find me. I have a big box of color items and papers. I sit on the bed and turn off my music. I can hear the wind blowing and the birds singing there songs to one another. I grabbed a paper and a pencil and sat just scribbling. I wasn't just scribbling anything I was drawing my dad.
