The next morning, Stella wakes up with a groan and starts to get dressed in her usual attire, which includes a black skirt, knee high socks and long black gloves, finished off with black shoes and a tall black witch hat with a green gem.
She snaps her fingers and her spellbook which was sitting on her bedside table floats over to her and Begins the levitating next to her.
"Time for another great day in Frostbourne!" She sings and then leaves her room.
She walks over to Lady Azura's room to say hi and ask her a question.
The door creaks open as she walks in. Lady Azura Is standing over a bench, her blue hair tied into a bun. She appears to be tinkering with a pair of mechanical wings.
"Hi Lady Azura!"
The lady in question turns around to greet Stella.
" Hello Stella."
"How are you doing today? "
"I'm doing good. How about you?
"Good as well."
"Any news on when Rain's going to be back from his Nether adventure?"
"Actually he just came back today, with a nasty disease to boot. I told him that going into what might as well be Hell was a bad idea, but nooo. Anyways he's in the medbay if you want to see him."
"Why wouldn't I want to see my friend after he disappeared for several days?"
" Well good thing his sickness isn't contagious then. I guess I'll see you later."
"Bye!"
With a spring in her step, she walks down to the medbay, her spellbook levitating obediently next to her. At first, people had questioned it but once she explained that it was just some rather simple magic it became the norm.
Within only a few minutes, she was walking through the medbay doors. Her friend was near the entrance laying on a stretcher and oh boy did he not look so great.
He's covered in bruises and a cut or two but the main thing her eyes are drawn to is the partially healed gash in his chest. All the skin near the gash is black and he has nasty gray ooze slowly trickling out of the wound.
His eyes meet hers.
" Oh, hi Stella. I was hoping I'd get to see you." He says.
"What happened to you?" She asks.
" I got cut with a diseased sword and now I have wither. As the name implies, my life force is slowly going to wither until I die."
" That's awful! Why'd do you have to go to the Nether?! I don't want you to die!"
" I went for my own reasons. Also, my attack hopefully weakened them a bit."
"There's gotta be a cure! Something that can be done!" She paces around nervously.
"Not that I know of. Not even Lady Azura has an idea of what a cure would be."
"No! There's gotta be a better way!"
Stella starts thinking hard. " Come on. Think, think, think!"
"It's okay if there isn't a cure, Stella. I've already died once, this time it'll just keep me."
"No! I will not accept that!"
She keeps thinking and then comes up with an idea.
"Well, the Coven I'm from is home to lots of powerful magic, they could help you! However, while it's not too far away, it is certainly not close. The journey could be dangerous."
"Do we have any better choice?" He asks.
" No I guess not."
"When do we leave?"
" Now! From what I've heard, you don't have much time. Let's go get permission from Ser Patrick, don't want the commander to get mad at us. "
(Sorry I do such short chapters, it just works really well for me, I hope you are liking the story so far, I've put in a lot of work to try and make it high quality!)
