. Chapter 9 .

Hayley's POV:

I was sitting on my comfy bed when I had the sudden pain in my lower stomach, I quickly got up and ran towards the bathroom where I discovered mother nature decided to arrive.

I sighed knowing I would now have to leave my house to go to the shops for some pads and tampons.

I quickly used the last pad I had and changed into clean white shorts since that was the only colour I had that were clean and left my house and headed for the shops.

When I arrived I quickly ran into the store and gathered everything I needed and ignored the weird looks I got from people due to my appearance.

I walked out of the store after I had finished shopping and out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of a tall muscular dark haired boy standing at his car with a husky in the back seat while he was feeding his dog a treat.

I slowly started to walk closer only to realise that it was Ace. "Ace? What are you doing here?" I asked him as I walked up behind him and got a closer look at the huge husky in his car.

"Oh hi love, I was just buying my dog some stuff, what are you doing here?" His deep voice sounded so amazing making my body heat up.

I looked back at the dog still mesmerized by his beauty and finally I snapped "OMG GIMME HIM NOW!" I couldn't help but shout at him as I nudged him away and ran up to his dog.

"WHAT'S HIS NAME I WILL DIE FOR HIM?!" I looked back up at Ace's smiling face making my cheeks heat up slightly.

"His name is Scruff." The name rolled off his tongue like it was made for him to say, both him and scruff looked perfect together like the perfect best friends you see around but instead of a human Ace's was a dog.

I turned to Scruff and couldn't help my excitement "SCRUFF I WILL DIE FOR YOU AND I AM GOING TO STEAL YOU FROM ACE AND TAKE YOU HOME WITH ME. OK?" I was so happy because I love animals and my mother never let me have a pet of my own as she said they were and I quote "waste of money, space and time".

I was brought out of my own thoughts when Ace spoke again "Hayley I only just got him love, but you can see him when ever you want I pinky promise." I turned to see Ace had his pinky facing me making me smile and lock pinky's with him to lock in our promise. I giggled when Ace kissed the back of my hand as he then kissed me on the top of my head and Scruff licked my other hand.

I looked up into Ace's black eyes and saw a flash of lust swim in them but it was quickly replaced with what looked like love?

I quickly brushed those thoughts out of my head when he spoke "So why are you at the shops anyway?"

I looked up at him and couldn't help but feel embarrassed at telling him why so I just opened my bag I had filled with pads and tampons and he looked inside before nodding his head and looking back up into my eyes again.

"Do you need anything like chocolate or a hot drink?" I couldn't help but feel butterflies swarm in my stomach at how caring Ace was being due to me being on my period, it made me realize how much Lucas didn't do.

"Um sure that will be nice we can get coffee or something and go to a park near by to let Scruff run around a bit. I-if you don't mind?" I stuttered a bit out of nervousness that he would say no at the end because when ever I asked Lucas to go somewhere he would always shout at me and tell me he was busy and to quit annoying him so I soon stopped asking.

"Yeah that will be nice I'll go get us Starbucks while you stay with Scruff then we can go the the park up the street." I was surprised by how quick Ace was to agree to my request at spending time with him but he seemed to be excited.

I gave him my drink order and he went to buy them while I got a collar out of the pet store bag Ace brought and clipped it onto Scruff making sure there was enough space and it wasn't hurting him, then I attached a dark blue lead to the matching collar and lead Scruff out of the car making sure to shut all the doors and wait for Ace to come back.

I looked over to see Ace talking with a blonde girl as he was holding mine and his drink and she was smiling at him and rubbing her hand up and down his bicep. I heard Scruff growl from next to me and I couldn't help but giggle at his behavior.

I looked back up to see the girl now facing me but not looking at me and my heart dropped at who it was. Emily.

I felt someone staring at me from the side and I turned to see Ace standing next to Emily as she spoke but he was smiling and staring at me. His gaze made me blush. Hard.

After what felt like an eternity Emily finally left and Ace made his way over to me. "What did Emily want?" I decided to ask as I was really confused.

"Oh she just wanted to see if I was free this weekend since we used to uhm...sleep together sometimes but I turned her down since I am not like that anymore and she seemed pretty pissed by that but that's her problem." I nodded my head and we started walking to the park with my coffee in one hand and the lead in the other while Ace walked next to me with his arm around my shoulders, his touch made fire erupt in my body and I couldn't help but notice how different I felt around Ace to how I used to feel around Lucas.

We arrived at a open fielded area with barely anyone around and trees circled the area making the field hidden from anyone else and the long grass brushed against my legs as we walked further down into the field of flowers and grass.

We stopped at a small bench on the edge of the field and sat down while letting Scruff run around in the long grass. I felt Ace sneak his arm behind the bench and slightly pull me closer to him by his hand making me fall into his side while laughing.

"I noticed you staring daggers at Emily earlier. Are you jealous?" Ace asked with a smirk plastered on his handsome face.

"No that isn't true." I said honestly making Ace chuckle but I kept a straight face since I was annoyed at Emily but I didn't know why.

"Well I thought it was cute either way that you had a scowl on your face while watching her openly flirt with me." I watched as Ace shivered in disgusted making me laugh knowing he used to sleep with her on a daily how ironic.

"So why can't you stand the sight of her now?" I said questionably while drinking my coffee.

"Well I used to love a good fuck I'll give you that but now. Now I don't even look in another girls direction except yours." My eyes widened at the honesty Ace was giving me and how he just openly said that I won't lie it did make me feel a lot better.

I rested my head on Ace's shoulder making his body instantly relax and he sighed while laying his head on top of mine as we watched the pink and orange colours in the sky start to form and Scruff who was lying down rolling around on the grass near my feet.
