"𝐈'𝐦 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐨"

Tired eyes and shaggy purple hair, he walked towards you, holding out his right hand. "Uh, sorry I'm y/n" you softly spoke as you got up from the cold grass. "Is this your spot? If it is I didn't mean to take it- I'll just go" before you could get too far Shinso quickly grabbed your wrist, "this isn't my spot I just saw a girl crying in a park at 3 in the morning."

He shifted in his stance and let go of your wrist, "what are you doing out here so late anyway?"  You looked down and felt your palms getting slick with nervousness. "I was just- I was..." hot tears pricked the corners of your eyes for the second time tonight, "I just needed to get out of the house."

Shinso lifted an eyebrow, "at 3am? Only horny teenagers, drunk people, and junkies are at the park this late." You looked down as to not make eye contact, you didn't want a stranger to see you cry, see you vulnerable. "Yeah... I know it's late, sorry to bother you. I'm gonna go now." You quickly walked away, not even giving the chance for him to respond.

The night was quiet, everyone had gone to sleep. All you could hear was the tapping of your shoes and the whistling wind in the chilled air.

When you got to your street you had calmed yourself and walked in as quiet as humanly possible, careful not to wake your mother who lay passed out on the couch with an empty bottle of liquor on the floor.

You walked down the hall to your dad's room to see if he was in there, and sure enough, he was asleep on his side of the bed. He hadn't moved spots, even if your mom started sleeping the couch at night. He told her that he didn't like the smell of alcohol on her, she loved him, and she refused to give up drinking but she would gladly sleep on the couch for him.

Closing the door to your dad's room, you made your way to your own room and opened the door. You didn't eat dinner earlier, but you didn't care. You were stuck inside your own mind, thinking what you did to deserve such a shit life. You slid down the hard oak and silently cried, but no tears came out. You had cried yourself dry.

In the midst of your breakdown you realized you started at a new school in the morning, you had been caught smoking behind your old school and they expelled you, obviously. Your father was furious, funny, the only time he actually cared was when you got in trouble.

He was worried about his own image, so he paid for rehab, but it was discrete. None of your friends even knew before you told them after the fact, they thought you went to summer camp or something. I didn't work though, but your father didn't know that. He thought you were the happy, sober girl you once were. And thy was a complete lie, he didn't know half the thing you were doing behind his back.

You slipped out of your clothing and got ready for bed, pondering what UA might be like, after rehab, your dad again paid to keep the school quiet about your activities. He suggested you try to get into UA. You didn't have what it takes to be a hero, or the mind of an engineer, and you were already a third year, so you chose to participate in the general studies program.

You had the smarts and your dad had the funds to get you in, so you did. You laid down trying to clear your head and get as much sleep as possible before you had to start at the infamous UA High School, so you closed your heavy eyes and went to sleep.

...
You were sitting in bed when you heard a knock on your door and the sound of your mom "hey, time for school. Get up y/n"

You got up and put your uniform on, "why do we have to wear the god-awful outfits?" You gazed around yourself in the mirror, dismay plastered on your face. You walked to the kitchen where your dad was at the table eating a single serving of breakfast that he only made for himself. Your mom o the other hand was on the couch, head in her hands probably with a bad hangover.

"Didn't make anything for me dad?" He looked up from his phone, "typical" you scoffed. He looked back down at his phone, "let me see you bag" "no? Why?" He put his phone down, you could visibly see the frustration on his face, "to make sure you don't have any contraband in your bag on the first day of a new, prestigious school."

"Since when did you start caring about what I do?" You were extremely close to blowing up in his face, you were fine with him not caring about you, but the fact that he's only caring for his reputation is starting to get old. "Since you became my daughter," his voice starting to raise the slightest bit. "Bullshit! You never cared about me, ever. What makes you think you can start caring now? So what if I'm smoking weed? You never cared about me before, huh?" You finally blew up, you were so tired of being treated like this, you knew it probably wouldn't change anything, but it felt good to let out your emotions. Your mom turned around from the couch, "get out y/n. Go to school."

And with that you grabbed your bag, put on your shoes and walked out the door, trying to hold back the tears that sat at the corners of your eyes. "Fuck!" Your cursed under your breath, and began walking. You only had 20 minutes to get to the school and you needed to meet with the principal.

With 5 minutes to spare you made it to UA, you ran as fast as your legs could take you trying to find the right office, you were still running when you slammed into solid figure. "Dear student, running in the halls I'm not permitted!" He boomed into your face while his hands were doing this weird karate chop motion "ok jeez I get it, no running in the halls, now where is principal Nezu's office?" That boy pushed up his glasses and cleared his throat, "principal Nezu's office is going to be 2 rights and a left going that way." He said, pointing is arms in the direction you were supposed to go.

"Uhh okay cool." You ran off as fast as you could, praying you wouldn't get in trouble, as not to get an earful from your father. As you ran you heard the boy yell "running is not tolerated at the place where amazing heroes were made!" But you had already turned the corner.
