"You are staring again."

Louis looks up at Bebe, a friend that me made in his class. They also share a flat together. Louis is really close to her, but only as a friend. He feels zero attraction towards the blond. He is really happy to have her since Zayn and Perrie aren't attending this university. They are in London though and they still meet up a lot, but it's nice to have a good friend in your class.

"I'm not staring." Louis snaps, taking a bite of his sandwich.

"You are. You are always staring at this curly boy and every time when he looks our way, you hide. Just grow some balls and ask him out. He is cute."

Like Louis didn't know that.

"I told you, Beebs. It's complicated. I'm not asking him out." Louis takes his eyes of his beautiful ex boyfriend, focussing on the cheese sandwich in front of him.

It has been 2,5 years since Louis left LA and the boys haven't spoken to each other ever since. They see each other from time to time at school, and sometimes they have this weird staring competition, but they never shared a word.

Louis still misses him though. He feels pathetic for not being able to get over his ex. It has been over two years, but Harry is still the only thing he can see in a room full of people. It's like Harry carries around a magnet that pulls Louis towards him.

He knows Harry doesn't feel the same way anymore, though. Every time he looks at Harry he is with the same guy, a dude named Josh. He is good looking, smart and openly gay. They always laugh together, and they are really touchy. It bothers Louis, a lot. But he doesn't have the right to say anything. In the end, he is the one that left.

And how much Louis has regretted that choice already. When he came off the plane he checked his phone immediately, but there were no missed calls. He decided to call Harry himself, but it went straight to voicemail.

Louis has tried to reach him over Instagram, Facebook and snapchat, but he has been blocked from every single social media Harry owns. Louis can take a hint.

"I think you need some." Bebe smirks. "If you don't want to go for hot curly boy, then at least check out Tinder if you are too shy to just speak to people."

"I'm not shy. I just don't need someone in my life right now. I want to focus on my studies, something you should do as well by the way. What about your last test, huh?"

"Don't change the subject, Lou. We are talking about your miserable love life, not my miserable school life."

"We have class in ten minutes. We should leave." Louis says, throwing away the leftover of his sandwich.

"You make me tired, Tomlinson."

"The pleasure is mine."

Bebe just smirks and puts her arm around Louis' shoulder. Next to Zayn, Perrie and his family, Bebe is the only person that is allowed to touch Louis. Louis doesn't want to feel anyone's touch.

That's why he hasn't dated anyone since his break up with Harry. He doesn't want to feel someone else's hands on his body. He doesn't want to feel another pair of lips on his. He only feels comfortable with the American boy, still, after all these years, he calls Harry his safe haven. The only thing that breaks Louis' heart is that he was wrong about one thing. Apparently they are not soulmates...

--

"Good afternoon, everyone!"

Louis and Bebe are sitting in class, the very back of course. Not that Louis isn't paying attention, he just doesn't like to be in the front. It makes him feel uncomfortable. He rather wants to be able to watch everybody than everybody watches him.

The students mumble a good morning back, making mister Waldorf mock them.

"Oh come on, guys. It's not even a morning session and you all sound dead. Well, I'm curious how you all will react when I will tell you your end of year project."

And that catches Louis' attention. He knows how important the project is. If he nails it, he is guaranteed of a good job as a songwriter and he really, really wants that.

"So this is what you guys will have to do. You'll have to create your own album. There have to be five songs.

1 collab

1 song that you have written before you started to study this. I'm sure you all have one.

1 slow song

1 up tempo.

And finally 1 song that you write during the project."

People are all gushing and they start to whisper, discuss which song they want to put on the album.

"I suggest that you pick of course the best songs that you have written over the years and of course you can make changes, feel free! It's also up to you to choose a name for your album. We are working together with different recording studios all over the UK. There is a list with cities where you can go and record when you show your uni bagde and yes, Louis, Donny is included." Mister Waldorf jokes.

Louis whispers a small yes, making a fist. So he can go home during this project, he is so excited. He misses his mother, sister and uncle so much.

"But that's not everything!" Mister Waldorf makes a dramatic movement, making his students laugh. "Because every single song will get his own videoclip!"

"Fucking awesome!" Bebe exclaims.

"But Sir? I'm not that good with video editing!" a girl in the front says, angst shown in her voice.

"Don't worry, you will be working together with the video editing/ photography class. You'll have to work closely together with them as they will visualise the things that you have written. It's important. This is for their end project as well. After class you come down. I put the list on the door."

Mister Waldorf takes the list, some pieces of tape, and puts it on the door. And an hour later, when class is over, he waits patiently for the other students to leave. He is in no rush, Louis never is.

"Louis, Louis are you okay?" Bebe asks when she looks at her friend.

Louis' face is pale, his hands are shaking and his vision got blurry from the tears. This can't be true.
