It's a quite late update today but I hope u still enjoy it
The next day Harry only went out to buy a new phone. He didn't bother to go to school, he just really didn't want to.
And Perrie had told him that Louis wasn't there either. He stayed at home all day.
Harry just really wants to go over and cuddle him. But he knows that it isn't that easy. They have been apart for over two years and he has to find a way to bring the news from the letter to Louis. He has no clue how Louis will react.
And today is the day that the four of them go to Doncaster. Zayn is driving, Perrie is next to him and Harry is in the back. They are driving to Louis' flat to pick him up. The smaller lad is already waiting outside, a bag next to him. It looks like he doesn't even care about the pouring rain falling down on him. He is soaking wet.
Even in a pair of sweats, an old shirt and messy, wet hair he is still the most beautiful person Harry has ever laid eyes on.
Louis opens the trunk, squeezes his bag inside and then takes place next to Harry in the car. He is practically glued against the window, trying to keep a fair distance between them.
"Hey..." Harry whispers, looking up at Louis.
Louis reacts by taking his phone out of his pocket and ignoring the boy next to him. He is really not in the mood to talk to him.
Not in the mood for another heartbreak that is.
"Lou, please don't ignore." Harry begs but not getting any reaction.
"Louis, please."
Harry puts his hand on Louis'. The blue eyed boy feels an electric shock going through his body only from the soft touch and he pulls his hand away. He is not allowing himself to feel like that, not after all this time. Harry still has Nick in his life and that's clearly a sign that he doesn't care about Louis. Louis needs to get over him.
"If you are angry then at least shout at me, just... give me any reaction." Harry is desperate to make the other boy talk. Perrie turns on the volume of the radio, giving the boys in the back some privacy.
"I have nothing to say anymore, Harry. Let it go. We're finishing this project in a week so you can go to London the second week. I'm not coming to Spain." Louis says in a stern voice.
"Louis, no. You have to come. It's also for the project."
"You can't make me go to Spain, Harry. I want to do this in Doncaster or London. I'm not going abroad with you. Maybe invite Nick." Louis snaps.
A sigh leaves Harry's lips. He wants to tell Louis about the whole situation but he knows that in the back of the car, with Perrie and Zayn in the front, loud music playing and a billion raindrops on the window is not the perfect scene for that conversation. So Harry just turns around, looks outside of the window and watches the rain, his tears falling down on the same pace as the rain is falling from the sky.
--
"Fuck." Zayn curses when there is a loud thunder, followed by blinding lighting. Harry looks next to him, seeing Louis shiver like crazy. He knows how scared the older boy is from thunderstorms. Harry always used to cuddle him, kissing his temple to calm him down.
And Louis needs that now, desperately. He is so angry with Harry for breaking his heart and still being in contact with Nick. For sure that last part rips Louis apart. Even though Harry doesn't know about the last thing that happened, he knows about the picture.
Louis stopped being friends with Stan only because he suggested a bet that included Harry and they weren't even together back then. So yeah, Louis is really hurt about the whole Nick situation.
But the lighting flashing in his eyes and the thunder echoing in his ears make him forget about that for a minute. He wants Harry to hold him. No one can calm him down like the American boy can.
So he turns around, only to see Harry already giving him a worried look.
"You okay?" Harry mouths, not making a sound.
Louis shakes his head and looks at his lap. He is a grown up, an adult, and here he is almost crying over a bloody thunderstorm.
It isn't only the storm though, it's mainly the broken heart that is still beating for the one that broke it.
"Do you want me to hold you?" Harry is really careful, not wanting to make Louis angry, but when he sees the boy nod he quickly takes off his safety belt and grabs the one that is in the middle seat, putting it on before taking Louis in his arms.
"It's alright, Lou. We are almost there yeah? Only half an hour." Harry whispers in his hair, his thumb rubbing Louis' arm.
Louis doesn't say a word, he just clenches himself on Harry, not really comfortable with the belts on, but he needs this so much.
"My little koala." Harry whispers, his finger tracing the side of Louis' face. "You're alright. Close your eyes, yeah? Try to sleep and I promise we'll be there when you open them again."
And Harry's voice is making every single muscles in Louis' body relax. His head is resting on Harry's chest and the small touches make his heart beat faster.
Louis thinks about times where they used to be like this all the time. Louis always cuddling into Harry completely when it storms. Harry hidden in Louis' chest when they were watching scary movies, because unlike Louis Harry believes in ghosts and it scares the shit out of him.
They used to be so perfect together. As much as Louis ever claimed to be the dominant one, there wasn't really one. They were just balanced. Sometimes Harry needed to take care of Louis, and sometimes the other way around. They were just perfect together. Harry was the ying to Louis' yang. They trusted each other, comforted, listened to each other and supported each other in every single thing that they did. They barely fought and the most important they were so in love.
Why did he ever let him go? Why did Harry stop loving him? Because Harry is still Louis' whole world, and as hard as Louis is fighting against it, there doesn't seem to be a way that is changing .
