When I walk onto the plane I'm greeted by fake smiles from the overly happy flight attendants.

My seat is located in the middle section of the plane and I got a window seat thank the lord.

After what seams like forever of the lady's talking and describing what to do if we ever got into trouble on the plane we finally take off.

The 5 hour plane ride is filled with a man sitting next to me that's sweating like a crazy person and shaking the whole time. I could help but think this was his first time on a plane but we've all been there once.

A little bit no younger than 6 was sitting behind me with his family and he was constantly kicking my seat and whining.

I couldn't bring it to myself to say something to the poor little boy who was becoming agitated with his sibling crying almost the whole ride.

When we land I am so thankful that I got off because the man was getting aggravating and the little boy too.

I was in the middle of a big mess.

When I'm waiting for my bags at baggage claim its a little after 4:00 and I couldn't be more exausted. I have to catch a cab and get a ride to Duke.

I hope my roommate in my dorm is nice.

I feel very out of place when I walk onto the campus and can't help but wish someone was hear with my instead of walking in on my own, not knowing anyone.

When I walk into the dorm I am taken back a bit. It's not as small as I expected it to be but there's so much stuff crammed into one small space it's over whelming.

My eyes travel to the two twin beds and I can't help but think about my queen sized bed at home.

No one is in the room right now besides me but there are bags on the bed.

I place my bags on the unoccupied bed and begin to stick my folded clothes in drawers and hang my shirts and other items in the half of the closet that has nothing in it.

I'm a bit startled when a very pretty blonde girl walks into the room.

She welcomes me with a warm smile. Her eyes are bright blue and look gorgeous with her blonde hair and beach waves.

"Hi I'm Grace! I'm guessing your my roommate, well I hope you are because that would be weird if you weren't assigned to this room but you are putting your clothes up in the closet." She rambles on.

I can't help but smile at her after the funny and awkward statement she just made.

"So where are you from?" Grace cooly asks

"Slidell, Louisiana." I respond but the look on her face makes me remember that no one has ever heard of slidell so I correct it and tell her New Orleans and she nods.

"Where are you from?" I question

"I'm from New York." She answers with a smile.

I love this girl already, she's so full of energy and she makes me feel comfortable and not out of place.
