"ATTACK!"

Levi's voice could be heard echoing in the foyer. The furniture all around her came to life at his command.

Despite Y/N's fears, the castle's staff members were far from helpless. Or, at the very least, they were attempting to be. They had burst into action as soon as they had seen the charging crowd. While Mikasa tried and failed to persuade the master to quit wallowing and battle, Levi, Armin, and Annie devised a strategy. It was an easy plan - barricade the door - but it was still a plan.

They attempted to block the door but realized it was futile when the villagers began smashing it down with a battering ram.

So they'd decided to abandon their post at the door and test their power by lying in wait, as still as real furniture, as the unsuspecting villagers poured in. Finally, Levi yelled the order, and the artifacts launched an unexpected assault.

The chairs kicked. Annie and the other dusters waved their feathers in the faces of the villagers before they sneezed. Candle flames shot high into the air, blinding others and scorching the backsides of some unsuspecting villagers. The mob shrieked in terror as the furniture approached, and the villagers attempted to protect themselves. The castle employees, on the other hand, were taken aback.

Jean stood in the midst of the chaos, trying to make sense of what was going on. He knew how to fight and win against other guys. He'd done it a number of times before. He was an expert hunter. He'd already done that. But a room full of walking and talking furniture? That was the first time he'd ever seen anything like that.

"Jean!"

Jena turned to see a tall coatrack pulling back one of its 'arms', ready to reach him, after hearing Marco's warning cry. Jean didn't think. He just acted. He snatched Marco's collar and put him up in front of him. Marco's midsection was squared by the coatrack's punch.

Marco muttered something. Things got worse a moment later when a massive harpsichord stood on its back legs and dropped forward. Jean used Marco as a human shield once more. As the harpsichord landed on Marco, there was a muffled yell.

"Sorry, old friend," Jean said, not bothering to help Marco up, "But it's hero time."

"But...we're Le duo..."  As the harpsichord's weight fell on him, Marco's voice became weaker. He passed out a few moments later.

Jean gave Marco one last glance. Then he looked down at the mirror in his hand, which he still had. The Titan could be seen sitting on a turret high above the foyer. He muttered under his breath, "Hero time." He spun around and dashed through the room. As a tiny teacup blasted past him on the back of a serving trolley, he ducked out of the way. As a sideboard attempted to trip him, he jumped to the side, avoiding tripping over a small footstool that barked at him like a dog.

He was bounding up the grand staircase moments later as the fighting noise disappeared behind him. He continued his ascent. He realized there was a fight ahead of him.

Mikasa then appeared at the top of the stairs, as if to prove him right. Her expression was glum as the clock descended from one of the turrets.

"My, my, what are you doing all the way up here, clock?" Jean said. "Is there a Beast up there?"

Mikasa took a deep breath and swallowed. Eren's location had just been given away unwittingly by her. Jean swung his leg around and kicked Mikasa down the stairs before Mikasa could say anything to stop him. the letter s Jean refocused on the top of the turret stairs after Mikasa thudded away. It was only a matter of time before he had another trophy to hang on his wall now that he knew the Titan was somewhere up there.
