Ryder's POV
A sharp hitch signals the classroom door opening right in the middle of this physics exam.
Thank God!
My eyes shoot to see who's walking through the door, Principal Deakin.
"I'm in trouble." I mentally tell myself, as the Principal usually comes in classrooms just for me.
Instead, he whispers to my teacher, Mr. Wilks.
Everyone's now distracted from their test.
This isn't normal. Something's up.
My eyes shoot towards my best friend, Jason. I swear we were thinking the same thing by the way our focuses met.
I mouth the words, "what's going on?"
"I don't know" he signals back.
I look back up to Deakin, who signals 'come here' to someone outside the door.
Suddenly, my stomach drops. Nervous sweat surrounds my body as my mouth goes dry and I feel my chest tightening.
No. She can't be here.
Why is she here?!
