Azra-

I woke up In a sweat breathing heavily and uncontrollably. jeez. these dreams where really hitting me lately.

I grimaced as I shifted uncomfortably out of bed cringing at the dampness of my clothes. Squinting my eyes as the light of the world pooled in through the cracks of my curtains, I walked over to my bathroom, flicked on the lights and stared at my reflection.

my cheeks where tinged with a pink blaze, not helping my features as I pulled my ginger-blonde  hair into a swift ponytail to splash my face with the ice cold water.

I patted my face dry to look at my phone 6:37am damn. I groan as I plead the world to let me have at least another 8 minutes of sleep.

Leaning against the black marble sink I close my eyes sighing as I imagine myself exhaling the problems of my world with one single breath. Although I may not feel it at the moment, I am happy about starting college. I mean after all, I am going to New York University in, you guessed it. New York.

My Auntie back at home in California had bought me an apartment over in NYC nearby to the campus so I wouldn't have to live in the dorms. it wouldn't be bad to however this girl needs to have alone time with myself and my boyfriend, and living in a dorm wouldn't really work well.

And anyway I had Lucy, my best friend moving in today so technically, I was kinda in a dorm room. except we had our own rooms and showers and stuff, so privacy was still available.

I turned on the shower, its gold knobs cold leading a shiver to snake down my spine. I take off my pyjama pants and top unsuccessfully as I trip over however due to reflexes I was unknown of I managed to catch myself before my face met the tiles.

Carefully I  placed my hand under the water to check if it's warm. I step in the shower slowly and a morning moan escapes my mouth as I drown myself preparing my mind for today.

after I finished my shower I brushed my teeth and applied my everyday makeup, mascara and lip balm. I step out of bathroom still in my towel and went to find some clothes. As school was starting up in August it still would be relatively warm, however today it was particularly colder as it was expected to rain later on. I placed a navy plaid skirt onto my bed alongside my white turtle neck shirt and a red v-neck sweater.

oversized sweaters where my pride and joy.

actually they where my life.

mid putting on my outfit I hear a knock on the apartment door. I hastily zip up my skirt and throw my sweater on.

'Girl hurry up in there!' I hear from the other side of my house. I skid through my home and whip open to look down on my friend for life, Lucy.

her short stature was soft and slim yet her personality would never tell you that. Her dark brown eyes rolled in amusement as she greeted me.

'took you long enough' she smirks.

'I... I-' I pant somehow exhausted from the sprint to the door. damn I should really work out more. I thought to myself.

'take your time' she said with amusement laced throughout her voice.

'I thought you where coming over at 10:00am, not 7:30' I finally let out breathily.

she rolls here eyes again as she walks through the door with her fully packed too-many to count suitcases.

'yeah. glad to see you too'

I smiled at her remark and embraced her in a hug. My height of 5'11 and hers at 5'3 was always an obstacle when it came to how we hugged but after a few miscalculated attempts we had eventually worked it out.

'How was the flight?' I asked her. 'oh my god' she sighed, 'You won't believe who I saw on my plane.'

'who?'

'okay so my flight was conjoined with a halfway flight of people from Australia and there was this guy and-'

'oooh a guy, and what made him catch your eye?' I chuckled.

she rolled her eyes in response and continued, 'anyway, so he was like so bloody tall like probably double my size.'

I raised an eyebrow in response. the theatre person in herself peaking through.

'okay so maybe not double but he was really tall. like 6'4, and he had these strikingly green eyes they pretty much took all the air out of my lungs and I couldn't help myself so I went over to him and stroked up a conversation and guess what I found out?'

I stare aware that she is swooning over this unknown what she would call 'hunk'. I may never now how she can see one person and instantly fall for them. I wasn't sure wether it was a talent or a thing to be concerned about.

'what?'

'so turns out he is attending our University!'

I stare at her in interest, unknown on how to respond. was that cool? Did it really matter? because yeah it was a cool coincidence but would we ever strike up a conversation or see each other?

'are you listening?'

I snap out of my trance and look at her totally unaware that she had still been talking to me.

'sorry what?'

she sighed 'I was talking about what he got in for.'

'oh yeah! I know, I don't really understand that course though, I mean I do! totally, its just like so popular, I would've chosen something else. I mean I did, yeah I did choose something else obviously because you know I'm not doing that course. pfffft obviously you do your my best friend right? hahaha its kinda weird I mean its not bad but I wouldn't pick it. like its such an odd course. not weird weird of course like super weird. I mean it's not super weird but yeah its not weird at all. am I rambling no I'm not, I'm talking normally yeah totally normal right. heh?'

she rolls her eyes. oh shit. I stuffed up.

'girl. he's in the same course as you.'

we look at each other for a few intense seconds grey eyes to brown and then burst of laughter. I roll over on my seat as Lucy holds her stomach. We laughed so hard tears had started to form in our eyes, repetitively failing to calm down.

after a good 5 minutes of uncontrollable dying we eventually dropped the subject of this mysterious plane boy. I let Lucy unpack her suitcases into her room as I finished getting ready for the day by adding my favourite perfume.

I hardly ever wore perfume due to the fact of my laziness, but considering today was the introduction to our new university I had to make a good first impression because first looks matter! after that it becomes pyjama day every day.

I finalise my look with some thigh high black boots and then go to make a green tea while waiting for Lucy to finish getting ready.

I was so excited for Uni and was prepared beyond preparation but I was completely unprepared for the one thing it had for me...
