Lucy pov

When I get to the town, I make sure my eye is well hidden behind my hairs before approaching people to ask around for help, for direction to a hospital, whatever, just something to help Natsu. Panic and despair are bubbling up inside of me, and it's all I can do to not lose it.

Finally, I get to the city's hospital. Going in, I plead, "My friend needs help, please. We were attacked on the road."

"Right this way," says the receptionist, or maybe she's a nurse I don't know, I don't care. I follow her further into the building. She leads me through a series of corridor that I don't pay attention to and finally to a room where she indicates me to lay Natsu on a bed. She comes closer to examine him, and freezes. She stares at him for a good minute. Running out of patience and my panic getting closer to the surface, I snap at her, "Are you going to help him or not?"

Slowly, she looks up at me and blankly says, "I will not."

"What?" I'm close to hysterical at this point.

"I would ask you to please leave this establishment, we will not be treating this patient."

I stare at her in disbelief. "B-but, why?" I stammer.

"This is Chaos, right?" Again with the nickname. "The rumored child of Acnologia, is it not?" Without waiting for an answer, she continues, "This man is better of dead." I'm too stunned to answer. How could a doctor say something like that? "He is a danger to the populace, and I will not host a criminal in my clinic." She drives the last nail in, "If you do not leave on your own, I will call the authorities."

Still not able to fully grasp what she said, I nonetheless pick Natsu up and stagger the way back outside. My own blood loss is starting to have effect.

Despite not paying attention earlier, it's not hard to find the way back; I just have to follow the blood trail. He's losing so much blood,  is the only clear thought in my mind. If I don't get him some help soon, he might die.  That one possibility horrifies me. Think, Lucy. Think. There must be somewhere else I can get him help. That's right! There is a cathedral in the city. Maybe they would be willing to help. Slowly, with only the hope of getting help for Natsu keeping me on my feet, I start to make my way to the giant building in the middle of the town.

As I walk on the streets, I begin to hear whispers. Passers-by are starting to recognize Natsu, and the word is spreading. After all, he is pretty recognizable with his pink hair and scarf made of scales. Everyone keeps clear of me, only watching from afar as I do all I can to save the only real family I have in this world. Deep inside, I feel hatred rising. Who do they think they are, judging us like that? Deciding by themselves that we are evil and deserve to die because of our circumstances. Right now, I can only feel disgust for my fellow humans.

Once at my destination, I plead for help, only to be turned down again when they recognise Natsu. Despair cripples me and I fall to my knees by the cathedral's doors. At this rate, he's really going to die. Tears start to run down my cheek. I can't lose Natsu. I love him. He's my everything. Then I remember. Isn't there a guild in this town? Yes. Yes there is. Just on the shore of the lake. Full of mages. There might be one willing to help. Last hope firmly in hand, I stand again. I check Natsu's condition only to find him ghostly white, cold sweat all over, breathing labored. I blanch. If they don't help me at the mage guild, I fear he won't survive.

Despair driving me as much as hope, I make my way through the town once again, with another destination in mind this time. Again, passers-by only spectating my desperate struggle to save my friend. When I finally get to the guild building, I'm about to collapse. In fact, I do just that. Right against the door. It opens with a "Boom!" as the wood meets the wall. The crowd, rowdy until then, quiets down and all eyes are on me. In the silence, I prostrate myself and beg, "Please, save him. You are the last hope I have. I beg of you, save him."
