" IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I
ACTUALLY HAD FUN. "

you muttered, managing to find a way out of the forest. when you caught a glimpse on a tree that was always and significantly near the house— you sighed in relief before dashing towards the shade of the huge tree, hoping to relieve some oxygen back from flowing in every cell you had.

upon approaching the tree, you realized that one of the cattle children— a culprit amongst the innocent whom blends in like a wolf on sheep's clothing sat underneath the tree's shade with a book in hand with his legs crossed like some wise lady.

he presents a tainted flower that has gone through strong snow winters and terrors of nature yet to survive.

the raven haired sat adjacent near the roots of the thick tree as he patiently reads before patiently flicking through a page.

he must've heard your clumsy footwork when he ignored his book for a second to look at you, he then locked eye contact with you for a few seconds before he broke contact, reverting back to reading his book- ignoring you without a haste.

"ray! Are you reading a book?" you chirped energetically as he only replied with a hum, not even bothering to spare you a secondary glance. it causes you to grin brightly, you were sure he was a kind, innocent kid if it weren't for the hardships he already faced— the truth he had to gulp and he had to do dirty work just to strive for the greatest possibilities of fleeing.

For the boy who sought for freedom.

gabi: erEeNn YeEagEarR!

it was obvious that your question was dumb but it doesn't matter as long as you make process with every single one of them. it was for their own good anyways.

plopping yourself down on the soil underneath the tree shade, you turned to ray before revealing one of your intentions along with one unsuspecting grin.

"you wanted to escape, right?" you tauntingly questioned the boy as you awaited for a reaction.

carefully examining his reaction— the young boy widens his eyes as his pupils slightly shrunken along with his movements halting.

just like how he was before, he reverted back to the past. his exterior was unwavering as if he didn't hear anything appalling. his reaction alone was outstanding for a young boy like him who hides secrets, he regained his composure without a hitch.

gifted children are outstanding. it was bone chilling.

without any trace, he continued reading his book that he once dropped. that alone made you rose a brow as you warily glance at him.

"you wouldn't react, huh.." you muttered silently, assuring yourself to silence yourself not to leak your whereabouts.

"i've given a thought about it," he paused, before glancing at you and locking gazes with you. directly making eye contact with you within his narrowed eyes— the glare he darts at you was harsh and suspicious.

it's not like had no reason, after all.

"you obviously do not belong here. I'm asking you, you appear out of nowhere. who are you?" he pressed further with a deeper tone of voice, a tone of someone who threatens.

what a son of jester hisoka, you still had a lot to go. you should repress yourself from being too prideful and acting big.

"what do you mean? you should give your pranks a break, it's not a trend anymore here at the house. at least mother recalls me, she told me so." you reasoned before shrugging your shoulders.

"if that's what you say, then it's up to you." the raven haired boy accepted as he released a sigh pass his lips.

"what book are you reading anyways? books are so bland and boring." you retorted before crossing your arms, huffing a pile of air.

wattpad: she don't see us? she see me?

you could just deter the sound of a vein popping at ray's forehead as he shifted at your direction also you turned to his direction before letting a loud laugh.

"i was just kidding! you should cut me some slack, I respect people's hobbies, alright?" you defended.

"hmp! what are you doing here anyways?"

"i think you dislike me being here-"

"no, dumbass. i was asking what your business here might be. why don't you go back inside and be a good girl? go clean and cook or make a friend, just back 50 meters of radius away from me." he complained with a sour face as he huffed a puff of air.

"nah, God has let me live another day and I'm about to make it everyone's problem." you cackled darkly, between your dark humour and for your reasoning to blend well like a true living.

"you're unpredictable." you heard the male beside you retort as he buried his nose deeper into within his thick book.

i bet the book's melting now, how lucky for that book to feel ray's cute nose and to feel him breathing alive😔👍-

you just didn't had the motive to respond an answer, nonetheless, you remained silent as wind blew over your hair.

the wind blew and tousled a few strands of your hair on your face as they decided to annoy you and stick on your lips, it annoys you, therefore, you just had to tuck that loose strand behind your ear.

breathing a big puff of fresh air, you breathed out with pure relief. you enjoyed this young boy's company, it was comfortable and warm yet he reeks cunning visualities.

you leaned against the strong yet thick tree as it supported against your weight and tucked both of your forearms up as a pillow since forearms are soft and leaned your head on it.

"Say, Ray..." you slowly paused, pursing your lips in silence before clicking your tongue and the word go, "did you enjoy it here?"

again, silence he greets. you heard no response, nonetheless, you had patience and simply waited. in just a few, you heard his answer that made your insides bubble in light joy.

"i admit it, i did enjoyed it here with emma and everyone."

you chuckled and nodded with a bright grin, content with what you heard, "i see. then do smile as you please."
