Chloe:

The next day I was released from the hospital. Beca had stayed the whole night and made Luke drive her back to the barn where I was held to get her car back. She insisted on taking me home, to make sure I was ok. I had just received my discharge papers when I heard a knock on the door. It was Beca.

"Ready to go home?" She asked with a soft smile on her face. I had only been in hospital for one night and I had more than enough of it. They had given me some infusions to compensate the lack of hydration and some light tranquilizers to calm me down. I couldn't wait to get out of the stupid hospital.

"More than ready." I said walking out the door. We got into Beca's car and drove to my place. When we got to the front door, she asked me if I would be okay on my own and I nodded.

"Call me if you need anything." She said while on the way back to her car, which was parked directly in front of the building.

I went upstairs and took a shower. I felt disgusting. Once I was done, I put on some sweatpants and a hoodie and plopped down on my couch. I distracted myself by watching some TV. A few hours later, I made myself some dinner and went to bed shortly after. It was still early, but I was exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. I fell asleep but woke up again about an hour later. I had had another nightmare, my heart was racing, I was sweaty and terrified. I called Beca. This time I didn't have to wait long, before she answered her phone.

"Chloe. Is everything okay?" She sounded concerned.

"I just had another nightmare, Beca. I'm scared to fall asleep. Can you-" My voice was shaky. "Can you come over? Please?"

"Sure. I'll be there in ten." I heard her say and noticed a male voice in the background. She must have put a hand over the mic of her phone because what she said next, sounded muffled. "Yes, sir." A little pause. "No, sir it can't. I'm going to go now."

"Chloe? Are you still there?"

"Yeah. Beca? You don't have to come over if you're busy. I don't want to get you in trouble." I felt guilty for interrupting her.

"Oh nonsense. I'm on my way. See you in ten."

Ten minutes later my doorbell rang. I answered it and a few moments later Beca was standing in front of the door to my apartment. I opened it and embraced her in a tight, long hug. I pulled away and stepped aside to let her in. She took off her jacket and put it on one of the chairs from my dining table, while wandering around the room.

"Wow. This is a nice place. I really like this style. Way better than mine." She looked at me and smiled. "Okay. Now tell me: What can I do to help you?" She came over to me and rubbed both of my arms soothingly.

"I went to bed early and had another nightmare. Now I'm scared to go to sleep again." I admitted while looking at the floor. I was a little embarrassed.

She just took my hand and squeezed it a little. "Let's get you to bed."

I went into my bedroom, Beca following me. She held up the blanket for me and I got into bed. She tucked me in and gently kissed my cheek. "I'll stay as long as you want. Good night, Chlo." She left the bedroom and I tried to go back to sleep. After half an hour of trying, I got up and walked into my living room again. I found Beca sitting on my couch. She had turned on the TV, but immediately looked at me, when she saw I was standing in the doorway to my bedroom.

"Can't sleep?"

"I tried, but I can't. I just don't feel safe." I said, tears filling my eyes.

"Come here." Beca opened one arm. I walked over to her and curled up in her lap. She put her arm around my back and caressed my cheek with her other hand. I let my tears fall silently and every now and then Beca would wipe them away for me.

"I'm here for you. I won't leave you and I promise you I'll keep you safe." She said while gently stroking my back and I could feel the exhaustion wash over me. I felt safe in Beca's arms and finally relaxed enough to fall asleep.

I woke up in the middle of the night because I needed to use the bathroom when I realized I wasn't curled up in Beca's lap on the couch anymore. I was lying in my bed, Beca nowhere near me. I rubbed my eyes and got up. After I was done using the bathroom, I went into the living room to see if Beca was still there. I was looking around the room and saw her lying on the couch, asleep. I made my way over to her and gently tried to wake her up.

"Beca? Beca, wake up." I whispered and gently rubbed her arm. She woke up and looked at me in confusion for a moment.

"Chlo? What happened? Did you have another nightmare?" Her voice was hoarse and sounded concerned.

"No, I'm fine. I was just wondering why you weren't lying next to me when I woke up." I shrugged.

"I didn't just want to invite myself. I mean we're not a couple, so-" She didn't finish the sentence. All I could think of was, how she could be so incredibly considerate. I had never met a person this concerned about other people's well-being before.

"Oh Beca, don't be silly. Come to bed. It's more than big enough for the two of us." I grabbed her arm and dragged her into the bedroom. We got into bed next to each other and I just felt the strong urge to cuddle Beca. She was lying on her back and I moved closer, taking her left arm and holding it up, so I could cuddle into her side. She was just chuckling but didn't say anything. She put her arm down and around me.

"Do you want us to be?" I blurted out all of a sudden.

"Do I want us to be what, Chloe?"

"A couple." I said quietly. I was scared she would say no. I really liked her and wanted to be in a relationship with her.

"Oh, uhm-" I could feel myself getting nervous waiting for her to answer me. "We don't really know each other that well, but I really like you, Chlo, you're already really important to me, so yeah, I can imagine us being a couple. I think I might have a tiny crush on you." She was slowly and gently stroking my back, dragging out the 'tiny'. She kissed my forehead and I felt a huge grin creeping up on my face.
