Okay, so my wattpad is being weird, but the person who requested this story was @miicrowavedsunshine !

Shuichi's POV:

I try to sleep, but it seems impossible. The twisting and turning, nothing is at ease. 

But why?

I stop. That one thought echoing through my mind. 

Why do I feel this way? 

I get up from my bed, sighing. 

What is this feeling...it's, it's like this protectiveness. But, what am I protective over?

I put my head in my hands, groaning. 

What if it's not a what...but a who..?

I jolt at this thought. I get up, pacing my room.

What? A person...then, who would that person be..?

Kaede.

What? Kaede? Sure, we're great friends.. but I'm not protective of her...But if it is, then why am I protective of her?

It's love. 

Love....for Kaede? I..love her..? I...love her... I love Kaede.

" Holy shit....I love Kaede..."

That's when I hear it. 

BANG.

" No, no no no no no. Not tonight . Please, it can't be her."

I pull on my hat and run out of my room. Through the halls, quickly. 

Please don't let it be her. God please don't let it be her. I just figured  out my feelings, please. It can't end like this. 

Faster. Faster. Faster. 

I find her room and yank the door open. 

" KAEDE."

She screams and stares at me. 

" Shu-Shuichi...Why are you here this late..?"

" Kaede, I heard the gunshot, are you alright?" 

" Y-Yeah, I'm fine....why are you here..?"

I blush furiously. 

" W-well, y-you see, I was just thinking, and I head the gunshot...I thought I'd rush here, I didn't want you to get hurt.."

" Oh, thank you...if you don't mind me asking, what were you thinking about..?"

Oh, crap, what do I do? This is new to me, what do people normally do in these situations. 

Be honest. 

I inhale sharply, and exhale slowly.  

" Well, I was thinking about how much I care about you..."

" W-what?"

" Kaede, I know that we haven't known each other very long, only the duration of this killing game... but ever since We've been together, partners in these cases...I've seen the way you shine... I like you as more than a friend Kaede, I love you."

" Shuichi..."

" It's okay if you don't love me back.."

" Shuichi, you idiot, of course I love you back!"

I freeze up. 

She, she likes me back?  She likes me back!!

She leans in, and so do I. 

Our lips connect, but it's not heated, just, pure.
