Dabi left Y/N's apartment shortly after the fire department had shown up and he explained what had happened to set off the sprinkler system. His anger at losing to her had flared up his quirk and he went a little overboard melting her controller in the process.
"How could I have lost so much control that I would melt her controller with my quirk?" thinking back on how expensive the rest of her electronics probably were that had been destroyed when the sprinklers went off.
Dabi huffs an annoyed sigh. When had he become so careless with his quirk to of released it just because he lost a game? Running his hands through his black hair he then stuffs them in his jean pockets starting his long walk back towards the dorms. Dabi walked everywhere because he thought denying to take his drivers license test would piss off his father. Not that the car he would of received would of been anything less than shitty if his father had a say in it.
He hadn't thought that the two of them would end up at her apartment so walking to the coffee shop he had chosen wouldn't of been an issue. He didn't live far from the coffee shop since the dorms were a couple blocks away and she lived on the opposite side about the same distance. Dabi passes the coffee shop nicking the urge to go back in and order another cup for the walk back to his dorm.
In his pocket Dabi palms his pack of cigarettes pulling them out while tapping the end to release a single stick. Placing it between his lips, the memory of Y/N's lips on his replays in his mind before igniting a dull blue flame on the tip of his finger holding it to the end of the cigarette. Shaking his finger Dabi takes a long drag before exhaling the last remnants of his nerves being so close to her.
"Huh, this really is a nasty habit isn't it?" Dabi murmurs to himself rounding the corner to the street the dorms were on.
His front pocket starts to vibrate as his phone rings. Already knowing who would be calling him, Dabi growls taking the last drag of his cigarette before flicking the cherry off and tossing the butt to ground next to the dumpster. Reaching for his phone, which was still ringing insistently, Dabi answers.
"Yes, Hawks?" Dabi mumbles moving his phone between his cheek and shoulder to fish out the keys in his pocket for his dorm room.
"Well good afternoon to you too, sunshine!" Keigo says sarcastically.
Rolling his eyes Dabi asks "What do you want, bird brain? I don't feel like playing games with you today."
"Oh come on man, I can't call my best friend just for a nice afternoon conversation?" Dabi hears Keigo rustling with something in the background.
Suppressing a laugh at his friends cheeky response "You never call me just to chat, so again... what's up?""Oh I was just calling to see how your group project meeting with Y/N went. I know you have the hots for her" Keigo laughs at his own joke.
"Can it, Hawks. It went fine. There were some developments that happened after we finished working on the paper." Dabi adds inserting his key into the door before walking into the dark hallway.
"Recent developments? Oh please do tell me more, burnt bacon boy!" Keigo says excitedly, seemingly getting more into the conversation.
Growling lowly at the nickname Dabi responds "Well, I learned that she likes to play video games like we did before UA. And I may have lost a bet we made owing her a favor."
Hearing Keigo get off his bed, Dabi prepares for his next words "I'll be there in 10. This is something I want to see your face contort to admitting." Keigo ends the phone call with a distant laugh.
Dabi sighs placing his phone on the kitchen counter. Sure that Keigo was going to fly here since he said he would be here in 10 minutes Dabi lifts the window pane to create an opening. Dabi had picked this dorm specifically because it had one window and no balcony entrance. Smirking to himself at the inconvenience his friend would endure flying through the small window would be enough to warrant telling him about what had happened with Y/N.
