It was a quiet moonless night, the animals that should've out during this time are nowhere to be seen.
"Its an ominous night." Ares said while looking at his vast territory. It was a dark night but because of his eyesight, he can see everything clearly. "It is." Leean agreed and was about to shift into his wolf form when someone suddenly appeared and gripped his shoulders firmly. "Tonight is not a good night to for your beast." Lakrel said calmly, his voice held a firm almost commanding tone that made Leean rigid.
Leean hated these unwelcomed guests that stayed in their territory a few weeks ago, after they realized that they've taken the unconscious girl with them, him and his friend stayed here. It all happened after the man who introduced himself as the leader of the Kyngos left behind his two subordinates to 'protect' them. Most of them welcomed their presence but Leean and Aklan did not. They held a certain power with them, it was odd that they can't seem to disobey their commands when they do it using that power. This particular scene is one of that. Leean scoffed and shrugged off the hand that was in his shoulder.
Ares watched the two and when he looked at Lakrel's eyes, he saw an unnatural glint. He sighed and gave Leean a look. His beta understood the look in his eyes and went inside to the pack house.
"I know you don't want our presence in here, but you must understand that we're indebted to you." Lakrel stated when they're alone. "I appreciate what you're doing but you must understand that my pack is still wary of your kind.... whatever you are." Ares knew that his last remark was uncalled for but he needed answers. None of them don't know what they are, they call themselves kyngos, someone from the legends, who would believe them? They won't even tell them what's going on, people from other packs are dying from this strange phenomena and the disappearance other night creatures still left unanswered. But they knew, and they're not telling them anything.
"Our only purpose is to protect this pack, those questions will be answered soon." Lakrel said and vanished. Ares stared at the spot where Lakrel was seconds ago. They move like shadows and does strange things. They tell them things that doesn't make sense like now. He is an Alpha, and the power he possess are one of the most feared there is. He know how strong he is but Lakrel's kind and power are still a mystery to them. He once tried to use his power on Hammel, Lakrel's companion. He did use most of his power that time, his aura itself was frightening enough even for other Alphas like Llaron who's strong as he is or maybe even stronger, but Hammel stared at him without any fear and watched his every move. He went for his neck, he wasn't serious about it, it was a test, but Hammel easily stopped his movements by suddenly appearing behind him and holding a dagger on his neck. The speed they possess is unbelievable that even Ares did not know what happened at that moment. Hammel's deep guttural voice whispered to him "Don't do it again." He then removed the dagger from neck leaving a small cut that did heal for two days.
Ares sighed walked towards the forest and his mind wandered back to the Kyngos. They possess a dark peculiar beauty that makes them look ethereal. No one knows where whey came from, what they are or the powers they possess. They just appeared at the very crucial moment, they seem to know what was happening, but they keep it to themselves. And the girl that they took-
Ares' train of thought was cut off when he stepped inside the forest. Hammel and Lakrel was talking in an urgent manner but stopped as soon as he arrived. He frowned at the two. It was Lakrel who sighed and approached him first. "Tell your people not to go out tonight or to let their wolf surface, stay inside the territory. And if you want other pack to survive, tell them the same." Lakrel turned his back to him after saying that. Ares did not question them anymore for he knew he will not get the answers he needs. His eyes caught Hammels figure and Hammel nodded his head at him, it was both a greeting and agreeing with Lakrel. The only time Ares heard Hammel's voice was on their first meeting, and it was when he was holding a dagger on his neck.
