My Dear Pico {Pico x Fem Reader}

Reunion Pt.2 (Y/N POV)

I just stood there, confused, watching the strange men and Pico laugh. I slowly walked over to them and tugged on Picos sleeve. "Uhm.. who are these guys?"

"Oh, Y/N!" Pico smiled down at me, "This is my dad and his boyfriend." He gestured towards the men.

"Ah.. It's nice to meet you! I'm Y/N!" I gave them both a small handshake.

"Nice to meet you, too. And you can just call me Captain!"

I tried to smile.. but the guys honestly scared me a little. Pico had told me they worked out in the battlefield.. and they always carried a gun. Now that I think about it, Pico carries a gun, too.. But I'm not scared of him.

Wait.

No.

I take that back.

I am a little scared of Pico.

"So, Dad? What are you guys actually doing out here? I've never seen you this far away from bloodshed." Pico noticed that I felt a little uncomfortable and took my hand in his.

"Ah well.. Everyone needs a break, right?" Captain chuckled.

"Pico-"

I was cut off by him. "Remember that shooting incident I went through?"

"What bout it?" Mumbled his dad, who had just stolen a bite of Steve's ice cream. Now the guy just looked sad.

"Yeah, well.. The bitch who started it is back."

I sighed and let go of Picos hand, but he took it back and pulled me out in front of him, hugging me from behind and resting his head on mine.

"Wha-"

"Her names Cassandra. She's got like.. magenta hair.. That's the color, right Y/N?" Pico asked directly into my ear.

"What? Are you fucking color blind or something?" I giggle.

"Yeah. That's why I'm asking, dummy."

"Say sike right now."

"He didn't tell you?" Looks like Steve finally decided to speak up.

"No?"

"Well, I'm colorblind. Get over it." I could feel that Pico rolled his eyes.

"Uhm.. Pico? Did you say Cassandra a second ago?" Steve finished his ice cream and threw it away.

"I did. Did you have a run in with her?" Pico lifted his head to look at him.

"Want me to tell em?" Steve asked, glancing over at Captain.

"Yeah.. Sure."

"Cassandra may or may not have hired us to.. uhm.. kill Y/N."

"What?!?" I flinched at Picos sudden yell. Cassandra hired Picos dad to kill me? What the fu-

"Pico.. Calm down." I tried to calm down the angry redhead, placing my hand on his cheek. He seemed to jerk away for a second, but immediately placed his face back in my hand.

"Let's go home, Y/N. It was nice seeing you again, dad.. Don't kill too many innocent people." Pico took my hand again and started dragging me away. I looked back at Captain and sorta shrugged.

====Timeskip====

Me and Pico were about halfway home now. We had walked out a good distance from home. I was filled with paranoia, looking into every alleyway for someone or something that had intentions of hurting us.

More and more walking.. Honestly my legs were starting to hurt from not getting a break. Pico was still dragging me.

I understand he's upset and probably wants to rip Cassandras head off, but did he have to have such a tight grip?

That's when I heard it.. a quiet click. Me and Pico froze, slightly turning towards the alleyway next to us. A pair of silver eyes were staring right at us.. and next to the eyes.. the shimmering of a gun.

There was a loud 'bang!'

And then a sharp pain in my chest. A bullet had pierced through my skin and lodged itself right through my ribs.

God.. It hurt like hell.. but I didn't yell. I didn't scream.. I only winced. I looked down at the wound, which was bleeding uncontrollably.

My ears were ringing. I couldn't hear Pico screaming my name as he kept me from collapsing onto the concrete.

Was this it?

Was.. Was I gonna die here? Today..?

But I have so much to live for..

And I couldn't leave the love of my life..

I shut my eyes and went limp.. The pain I felt a moment ago disappeared.

I guess this really is it..
