Chapter 1

*Beep Beep Beep* I wake up again after the fifth time of pressing the snooze on my alarm. I warily looked at the time, knowing I was going to be late but not wanting to face the facts. So I turned my head slowly. shit! It was 10:00am! I was supposed to be at work by 9:30. My brother was going to kill me!

I darted out of bed and in the shower, after the quickest shower of my life I blow dried my mad blonde Curley hair, no matter what I did to it it would never tame! I studied my face in the mirror, after a long debate with my conscience I decided to put on a layer of mascara and lip gloss. I ran to my wardrobe and threw on the first outfit I saw, my ripped denim shorts, black oasis t-shirt and grey converses.

I ran to the kitchen knowing that my dad would give me a lecture if he found out that I had missed breakfast as its "the most important meal of the day". But on the other hand my older brother Dean would kick my butt if I was even more late than I already was. I picked up my skateboard and ipod from the hallway and off I went darting through the London suburbs.

'Reynolds Milkshake Shop' was owned by my brother and I, to be honest I really wasn't bothered about owning it but my brother acted like business manager of the year whenever he mentioned it. It isn't as popular and spectacular as he makes it out to be, but what the hell it makes some spare cash!

I walked into the back entrance of the shop with my head down hoping he wouldn't notice me. He soon jumped in front of me though, tapping his foot and giving the old 'what time do you call this' lecture. After about 10 minutes of apologising I got my hideous pink apron and cap on and I was good to go! (Well as good as good can get seeing as we only get about a maximum of five customers per day).

I was sweeping the floors when out of no where I heard this deafening scream. I opened the door to see what it was and this boy running for dear life came towards me screaming

"Can I hang here for a bit?"

I looked at him, he must of been in his 20's? He looked familiar but I just couldn't work out where I had seen him from. He had shiny brown hair and blue eyes, his smirk was mischievous and I couldn't help but melt inside when I saw him.

"Erm so can I?" He looked at me nervously.

"Sure!" I said trying to sound as casual as possible

"As long as you buy a milkshake though otherwise my brother will kill me..."

"Haha, okay then, I'll have a vanilla milkshake with chocolate sprinkles then".

He looked at me and I couldn't help but feel special, he was so easygoing and those eyes! Wow! I made his milkshake and carried on with my sweeping. Out the corner of my eye I could see him watching me.

"Take a picture it will last longer" I said with a wink.

"Sorry I'm just a bit shocked that's all"

"And why's that?'

"Well, your not screaming at me or anything?

"Why would I? I'm not some crazed old woman"

"So you don't know who I am?"

"Nope, not in the slightest"

"Well, I'm Louis Tomlinson" he said as he boldly put his hand out. I stared at it for a few seconds wondering what I was supposed to do.

"Your supposed to shake it?"

"Oh! So you think I'm that girl do you? No, I'm not like that" I put my fist out, "and I'm Jessica, but you can call me Jess Reynolds."
