Me and Ethan sat their at a boring table, waiting for Dr. King. It was 2:30 p.m. I hated this.

I heard the door open with a squeak, and shut. I heard the rolley chair move back, then back in place.

I sat looknig at the scars on my thighs. "Hi, I'm Ethan, and this is Ella", I heard my very annoying brother say to him. "Hello, it very nice to meet you both", I heard a man say. His voice deep, and yet soft at the same time.

Ethan nudges me in the stomach. I looked up. I saw the doctor in front of me, chocolate brown hair, and espresso eyes.

"Tell me about your self" he said. "I'm 20, and I have a risky cancer in my lungs", I said.

It was quite for a while. King stood up, and so did Ethan. "Well I think that we have a very good future", The doctor said. "Thank you so much for helping us Dr. King", Ethan said. "Oh please no formalities, call me Xander", Xander said.

I sat in my boring room. Looking at the small potted plants on my window sill that people give me.

I heard a knock at me door. "Come in" I said with no emotion. It was Xander, he wasn't in his work clothes. He was in a tee and shorts. "Why aren't you in your doctor clothes?" I said.

"Well I'm off the clock." He said. I nodded in response.

"So I wanna ask you a few thing's" he said pulling up a chair. "What kind of questions?"

"Just to get to know, and help you", he said with a smile.

"Ugh, fine", I said "Great so what are some things that you really want to do in your life, he said, taking out a leather notebook. "Umm what's that for?" I asked.

"Just to keep track of things", he said. I nodded weirdly. "Ok umm get loads of tattoos", I said. "Ok what else"? He asked.

"Piercings, lots of em, attend a bullfight, bungee jump, dogsled, walk the great Wall of China" I said trying to make this conversation short, that way I can be alone.

"When is the last time you self harmed?" He asked. "About two weeks ago", I said stone faced.

"When did you start?" "About after a month of having this curse.", I said. "Why dont you want cemo?"

"Because it's bad enough that I have to live my life in a fucking hospital, and taking all these precautions, and that last thing I want is to have no hair, besides the radiation works fine",I said getting annoyed.

"Who is your best friend?" "My brother Ethan", I said. "Can this be over soon?, because it's almost time for Stella to give me my pills", I said.

"Alright then Miss. Eleanor I will see you tomorrow", he said giving me one last smile, and opening the door for Stella. Before walking away.

"So what's going on between you too?" She asked. "He's trying way to hard on me, I'm not going to open up to some random doctor", I said.

"Well he's just trying to help suger", she said. "I know, but he can't just magically make me happy, that's not how the world works." I said.

"I understands, just give him time", she said putting a glass of water on my trey, with my case of pills. I drank down all the pills.

"Good girl", she said walking away. My brother walked in a few minutes later.

"Lets go eat dinner im starving" he said. "Where we going though?" I asked. "To get enchiladas", he said excitedly. "From the truck?" I asked getting excited "You know it baby sis", he said.

I took the oxygen tank off my hook, and connected the wires to my portable one, just like Stella taught me.

Me and Ethan have a rule, when it comes to tamales. Run, and never stop, until you get them. It's been a rule ever scence we where in highschool, when Arnie opend up his truck.

I jumped on Ethan's back, and he started running down the halls, and walking whenever we pass by doctors.

We ran to the front desk. Rachel was at the desk. "Going out are you?" She asked. "Yes, and here is my card, for me to leave", I said showing her my special card.

"Alrighty then have fun you too." She said.

Ethan ran more until we reached his car. He stopped, and I jumped off. We both got in his car. He started driving out of the hospital parking lot. We drove down to the Boardwalk.

I got back on Ethan. Thank goodness he still has his strength from playing football, and lacrosse.

He stopped at the truck. I plopped off. "Ahh, two of my favorites", he said. "Four chicken please", Ethan said.

Arnie's wife walked from the back of the truck. "Hello Ella, and Ethan", she said, with her Hispanic tone.

"Hello Carmen", we said in usion. "Doing good?" She asked. "Yes", Ethan said. "That is good" she said walking back. Arnie gave us four tamales with a foil covers

Ethan gave him $10. "Keep the change man", Ethan said.

We walked down the Boardwalk, and sat on a bench. We had eaten our tamales. Now just relaxing watching the water in front of us.

This was what made me happy in life, spending time with my brother. But I know I can't be here forever
