Kim Tate stormed through the hospital. She was fuming when she got the news that Ella had been hit by a car. She wanted to know what had happened.

Kim walked over to the reception. She looked at the woman behind the desk. "Ella Tate. Where is she?" She asked.

"She's in triage. A nurse will come and collect you soon enough," the receptionist said as she looked at Kim.

Kim rolled her eyes. The receptionist clearly had no idea who she was dealing with. She sighed. "I want to see my daughter now. Or else I will make a complaint."

Kim walked into Ella's bedroom. She smiled as she saw her daughter sitting there. "Hello darling. How are you?" She asked.

"I'm okay. My head hurts."

Kim nodded. "You got hit by a car. You can come home as soon as they've checked you over."

"When is that then?" Ella asked as she looked at her mum.

Kim shrugged. "See. This is why I should transfer you to a private hospital. You would be seen much quicker," She said.

Ella rolled her eyes and sighed. She looked at her. "Stop it. Where is Lexi? You didn't leave her alone?"

"No. Jamie is with her. He has been told to not leave her alone," Kim said.

"Yes. Because Jamie is being the best role model ever isn't he?"

The next morning, Ella had been discharged from the hospital. She had broken ribs and a few cuts.

Kim looked at her. "Don't even think about leaving the house for the next few days. You're on bed rest young lady."

"I need to have a life you know mum."

"Tough. I don't want to hear it. You're grounded then. Let's put it like that," Kim said as she got into the car.

Ella was sitting in bed. The door opened and Lexi walked in. "Hi."

"Hey! Thank god someone is here to see me. I'm going bonkers sitting here," Ella said.

Lexi nodded. "Mum told me to come and keep you company. cause apparently you're not trusted to not sneak out," she said.

Ella nodded and smirked. "She's not wrong is she? But I don't think I could manage it. My ribs hurt."

Lexi grinned. "Did you see a bright light? Someone at school told me you saw a light and it's your own choice if you go into it," she said.

Ella blinked a couple of times. She smiled. "No. I didn't see a light. Are you okay?"

Lexi nodded. She cuddled into Ella. "I never thanked you for always being there for me. Being my big sister. And... protecting me."

"I'll always be there for you. I love you kid."

"I love you too."

Ella looked up as the door opened and Cain walked in. He smirked. "You wouldn't believe what I had to do to get up in here."

"What?"

Cain winked. "That would be telling. I'm not staying long. But... whoever did this to you won't get away with it. I promise," he said as he kissed her.

Ella grinned and nodded. But she had no idea how Cain's plot for revenge was going to change everything. And it wouldn't be for the best.
