Levi's POV
BEEEEEEEEEP! BEEEEEEEEP! BEEEEEEEEP!
I shuffle in my bed, groaning at the deafening noise, which is my alarm. After what seems like an eternity staring at the ceiling, I slowly reach for my phone to turn my alarm off, stopping in my tracks wincing at the blinding light coming through my bedroom window. I looked over in the opposite direction towards my bedside table to check the time. It was 7 am on a Monday.
"Ugh, I fucking hate Monday mornings," I mumbled to myself in irritation.
Finally turning off my alarm, I sluggishly get out of bed, heading towards my impeccably clean bathroom.
Following my everyday routine, I take a suppressant and start brushing my teeth thoroughly. While brushing, I walk over to my tub and turn the water on, mixing hot and cold water to get the perfect temperature. I normally bathe in scalding hot water, but today, I wanted something more relaxing. After about 2 minutes of brushing, I finally undress and enter the tub filled with hot water.
This is it, I thought. Feeling my mood brighten by the minute.
I close my eyes and sigh in deep satisfaction, feeling my cold body heat up to the temperature of the water. This was utter bliss, an indescribable peace I cannot explain. A type of start to the morning I love before my life becomes a fucking nightmare at work.
After some much-needed relaxation time, I hurriedly but thoroughly clean every inch of my body. Thoughts of Hanji and her craziness was enough to pull me out of my peaceful trance and force me to Passionately destroy any piece of germs that dare touch my milky white skin.
Once I was done excessively scrubbing my skin for 30 minutes, I finally get out of the tub, draining the water before drying myself off and heading to my bedroom to pick out an outfit for today. Looking through the clothes in my wardrobe, I finally settle on a simple black suit with a white button-up shirt, a black tie paired with black dress shoes.
I checked the time, seeing that it was now 8:15 am; I start to speed up; I silently curse at myself as I realise I'm about to be late to work. I made a mental note not to take forever getting ready in the morning. It's just that I like to be well presented, and there isn't enough time in my morning to get everything done.
After doing my skincare routine in a rush, I hurriedly run down to my kitchen, grabbing two slices of bread and throwing it in the toaster while boiling the kettle for a cup of tea. I normally take my time with breakfast, but I didn't have that luxury today. Getting my flask from my cupboard, In one swift move, I make my tea, butter my bread, gather my things and leave out the door, mentally preparing myself for the chaotic day I already know God has planned for me.
......................
I Pull up to my designated parking spot, quickly parking my car, grabbing my things and walking towards the doors of my workplace. I'm a journalist, and I work in the newsroom and research section. We mostly write articles and conduct interviews with high profile businesswomen and men, people with political influence and controversial ideas. They all make a great story, but oh, do they take your soul. I don't know what possessed me to become a journalist. It must have been all that weed I used to smoke.
Walking through the doors of my hell on earth, I was immediately greeted by my colleague Erwin Smith, an alpha. He's the only person I can tolerate in this place; we are the same in mind and personality, we're not close, but he is calm and kind, something I value in a person.
"Good morning Levi," he said with the most enthusiasm. It almost made me sick.
Who is this happy on a Monday morning? I internally ask myself. I involuntarily screw my face.
"Levi... ?" he said with a face full of concern.
"Huh? Oh, good morning Erwin, how are you ?" I say, quickly softening my face.
"I'm good. Is everything ok, Levi ?" he asked, concern still on his face.
"yes, everything is fine. I just remembered that I had that article on the Breanna Taylor case to finish up; it's been giving me hell lately. I say, obviously lying. I finished that article days ago. Just thinking about that article gives me chills. What those officers did to her was inhumane. They deserve to go to hell.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I could stay back with you and help you work on it if you'd like," he said.
"ah, no that-," before I could even finish my sentence, I hear a loud screech followed by my name being screamed, tch... it's Hanji.
"LEVI BABY, IVE MISSED YOU," Hanji screamed from across the hallway. She runs towards me full force, arms mid-air, pushing Erwin out the way before embracing me in a suffocatingly affectionate hug.
Hanji is a beta.
"Tch, shitty glasses get your dirty hands off me; I can't breathe," I said, clearly annoyed.
"Come on, shorty, don't be like that," she said as she started to loosen her grip.
I glared at her. If looks could kill, Hanji would already be six feet under.
I kiss my teeth, brush her off, and walk into my office, closing the door behind me. I placed my bag on my desk and took a seat before Hanji runs in harshly, flinging my door open with a loud bang.
"What is it, shitty glasses ?" I say without even looking up from my desk full of research material for my new article.
"I have a surprise for you, Levi baby," she said as if she was on crack cocaine. In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if she actually was.
"I'm starting a new project, and I want you to be a part of it," without even thinking twice I said a hard no continuing with looking through the papers on my desk.
"you haven't even heard what the project is yet," she said dejectedly.
"It's still a no," I said, being firm with my decision.
"Are you sure? Even if I've secured an interview with a certain Mr jaeger," she said, looking up from her glasses with a devilish smile on her face.
Bloody hell, she's got me there. I'm very interested in Mr jaegers work. I want to know the story behind his multi-millionaire company. How did he achieve such success at a young age? What hardships did he have to go through to get to where he is? His whole life, I want to know all of it.
"I'm listening," I said, curiosity taking over.
A loud squeal escaped Hanji lips.
"I knew I could rely on you, Levs," she said excitedly. She ran up to my desk, flinging all my research on the floor and replacing it with a huge blue binder I didn't even know she was holding.
"What the fuck Hanji," I said, pissed, looking from the scattered pages on the floor to her face In disbelief.
"In here is everything you need to know about the interview," she continued to say.
I couldn't believe it; this bitch just ignored me. The audacity.
"Anyways, levs, have fun with the interview and don't fall too hard," she said with a smirk and a quick wink.
And with that, she left the room.
