Mermaid Au: DNF

Dream was bored out of his mind, Sapnap was busy with Karl and Quackity meaning Dream was left by himself. Sighing he ran his fingers through his hair tugging on the ends of it trying to figure out what to do. Dream looked up at the surface he thought about visting the human world, maybe watch them for a bit, Dream and Sapnap would watch the humans and come back with new ideas and games for them and their friends. Dream had never gone alone before, He heistated for a moment before managing up the courage to swim towards the beach. He found a large rock he could hide behind to watch without being caught.  Dream had watched for maybe about two minutes before realizing this wasn't curing his boredom. "UGGGHH!" Dream let himself slide down the rock back into the ocean. Floating to the bottom of the ocean floor Dream closed his eyes when reopening he had seen a bunch of papers floating above him. Some pages were half burnt well the other half looked completely fine. Reaching out he plucked a piece of paper being gentle trying not to tear it. The ink was smeared but Dream recoginzed what was on the page music notes, He also noticed writing on the top as well Dream assumed it was lyrics but he couldn't read the human language but he could read the music notes and who ever written this wrote a very sad tune. A sudden sound made Dream jump out of his thoughts, he recongized it as a guitar, it started as a small strumming of  strings then slowly turned into actual music. Dream popped his head up to see three things, a dark haired man facing away from him, large headphones, and guitar case. The dark haired man was humming well playing, Dream uncontiously moved to the side, seeing the man's side profile Dream's cheeks went red. The man sitting on the rock didn't look human, he was way to pretty. Dream tilted his head trying to see more of the man. Suddenly another sounds makes both the human and Dream both jump, causing the beautiful music to stop. The man grabbed his headphones pulled them down to his neck and answered his phone. "Hello," The accent of the man made Dream's eyes widen. "Yeah..I know..understand...yea..no..I do..I will go right now hold on." Dream noticed the man's voice sounded...tired? Panicked? Dream couldn't put a word on it but it wasn't anything like his humming which was full of energy. The dark haired man sighed rubbing his temples before putting his guitar away and grabbing a pair of white sunglasses that was hanging on his shirt putting them on before he left leaving Dream feeling bewildered but he shaking it off before going back home. 

A few days passed and Dream couldn't get the human out of his head, The song he played stuck in his head replayed over and over. Even when he tried to listen to the other mermaids singing it didn't have the same affect. Turning his view to Sapnap "dude, are you okay?" Sapnap spun upside down. Dream shook his head before staring up at the surface. "are you still upset I left you a few days ago?" Sapnap sounded a little guilty. Dream snorted. "no, Sap thats not it.." Sapnap then grabbed Dream's head. "Then what is it? why have you been to quiet? your are never quiet unless your sleeping!" Dream slapped Sapnap's hands. "that day you left me by my lonesome!" Dream said dramatically putting the back of his hand on his forehead. Sapnap gasped just as dramatically. "I went to the surface to cure my boredom but instead of finding a game to play I met a human who I literally can't get out of my BRAIN!" Dream slowly let his body flop letting Sapnap grab him like he was a fainting princess. "you met a human?" Sapnap laughed letting Dream go. Dream nodded his head. "I'm not even sure if he was human Sap!" Dream looked up once more. "He was more beautiful then any mermaid or even human I've ever seen!" Sapnap crossed his arms, his face saying he didn't believe him. Dream grabbed Sapnaps face. "oh god don't even get me started on his singing voice." Dream sighed dramatically. Sapnap laughed again. "I need to meet this angel then." Sapnap let a fliteraous tone out. Dream blushed at the thought of talking to the man. "well, I haven't really...spoke to him yet." Dream rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "wait didn't you just say you MET the human?" Dream looked away. "dude...DUDE!" Sapnap grabbed Dream's shoulders. "You are infuated with a human but you haven't  spoken with him yet!?" Sapnap let go of Dream and started swiming. "we are going to meet him right now!" Sapnap said. Dream's eyes widen. "wait what?!"Dream swam up to Sapnap. "we don't even know if he's even there.." Dream could hear himself sound nervous.  "dude." Sapnap gave him a look. Dream dropped his head back. "fine..." he said sighing. Both mermen swam towards the beach that Dream saw the human. both popped their head out of the water. "okay, Dreamy...which human is it?" Sapnap asked. Dream looked around the beach and couldn't see him. "I don't think he is here..." Dream felt his heart drop. He wanted to see the human again the feeling didn't last long as soon as he heard the same song again. Sapnap notice the sound as well, It was quiet enough no human could hear it but both mermen could. Sapnap closed his eyes and listened for a moment. "I see what you mean about his voice." Sapnap whispered before Dream dived back underneath the water and swam towards the music, Sapnap following behind him.
