I reached out my hand but could only feel the bed quilt. I opened my eyes and looked beside me, Frank wasn’t there. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. I looked around the large empty room then rested my head back on the bed and closed my eyes.
I opened them again when I heard the door opening. I moved my eyes over towards the door and saw Frank walking in with a tray of food in his hands.
“Breakfast is served, Miss Warner” he said as he placed the tray on my knee.
“Oh my god Frank,” I looked down at the full vegetarian breakfast that he had cooked “when did you get this?”
“Went shopping this morning” he smiled as he walked around the bed and sat beside me. I looked at him and smiled.
“You’re amazing, you know that!”
He grinned “I know”
I laughed and we both eat the yummy vegetarian breakfast.
When we finished, I stood up to take the tray out but Frank took it out of my hands, I looked at him with a confused look.
“Why are you doing this? It’s not like it’s my birthday or anything”
“Can’t a boyfriend treat his amazing girlfriend for no reason?”
I giggled and he turned around to walk away with the tray. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he kissed my hand. I smiled and kissed the side of his neck. He turned around and both our lips met in a passionate kiss. When we pulled away, we both smiled and just stared into each other’s eyes.
“I better start getting ready” I broke the silence after a few minutes
“Where are you going?”
“To meet my parents”
He nodded and walked out towards the kitchen.
I walked over to my wardrobe and picked out some black skinny jeans, I slipped them on then pulled my tank top over my head. I walked back over to the wardrobe to find a decent top to wear.
“Frankiee” I shouted.
He came walking into the bedroom “yeah?”
“What top shall I wear?” I asked as I looked at him.
He looked me up and down then shrugged his shoulders “I think you look fine like that to be honest”
I giggled a little and raised an eyebrow “I don’t think I can show up at my parent’s house, meeting them for the first time, in a bra”
“Fine” he laughed and walked over to the draws. He bent down and opened one of the draws then pulled out a pink skully vest top.
“What about this?” he asked as he stood up straight and held out the top.
I walked over to him and nodded slightly; I took it out of his hands and pulled it over my head. I walked over to the mirror and started to apply some make up. I picked up my eye liner and lightly scraped it across my eyes. I then clicked on my straighteners and started to straighten my hair, trying to make myself look somewhat decent. I took one last look in the mirror before walking out the door and towards the lounge.
I flopped down on the sofa beside Frank and closed my eyes.
“What time are you leaving?” he asked.
I opened my eyes again and looked at the clock, 12oclock.
I sighed “I should really go now”
Frank nodded “Do you want me to come with you or would you prefer meeting them by yourself?”
“Um… I better go myself”
I stood up and straightened my clothes out, I then turned to Frank.
“Do I look alright? Are my clothes okay? Does my make up look okay?” I asked fast and nervously.
He stood up and wrapped his arms around me “Lisa, you look fine, stop worrying”
“I-I’m sorry… I’m just so nervous” I rested my head on his shoulder and also wrapped my arms around him.
“Don’t apologize sweetheart” he tried comforting me. I felt tears fill my eyes as I dug my head into his shoulder.
We finally pulled away and Frank gently wiped the tear from my cheek.
“You’re going to be fine babe” he repeated. I nodded nervously and looked at the window, the rain was pouring down it like crazy. I walked slowly into the bedroom and grabbed my black hoodie; I then walked back to Frank.
“You ready?” he asked and I slowly nodded.
“I love you” I said as I hugged him again.
“I love you, too” he hugged me back “and you’re parents are going to love you… I promise”
I faintly smiled “thank you”
We gave one last hug and kiss and I walked towards the door. I walked slowly down the stairs and up to the front door. I lifted my hood over my head and pulled the piece of paper out of my pocket. I kept re-reading the address over and over in my head; I had no idea where the road was. I looked at the bottom of the paper and saw some writing that I didn’t see before.
“The house is opposite a small restaurant called ‘The Old Coach House’
I hope this helps
Donna x”
I smiled and walked over to reception. The man behind reception turned around and looked at me.
“How may I help you?” he asked.
“Well I just wondered if you could point me in direction to ‘The Old Coach House’”
“Sure, you just follow the road right up and when you come to the end, turn right and you will see it, not too far” he smiled.
“Thank you” I smiled back and walked back over to the door.
“Here I go” I sighed to myself.
I zipped up my jacket and walked out into the cold rain.
