"Rise and shine, bestie!" Mikayla stormed into my room, opening the curtains.
"Why are you waking me?" I groaned, reaching for my phone to check the time.
"Because we have to go buy our costumes for tonight!" Mikayla announced excitedly.
"I can't say no to that." I smiled.

"So what are thinking? Matching costumes?" I asked, looking through the clothing racks.
"Not exactly. Maybe following the same idea like from the same movie or show? I don't want us to be unrecognizable without the other. We need to look like total hotties. Maybe the loves of our lives are-"
"Gonna be there tonight? Yeah, I doubt it." I interrupted.
"Hey, we're going to a party! Lighten up, babe!" Mikayla cheered.
"Do you know if Harry's going?" I whispered.
"No. Enough about him. We won't even mention his name at all tonight." Mikayla cut me off, raising her eyebrows.
"Deal." I sighed.
"Costumes?" She tried.
I shrugged in response.
Mikayla and I split up, looking everywhere and anywhere for inspiration. Summer Nights started playing in the background. I started humming along, distracted by the assortment of dresses. My shoulder bumped against someone else's as I reached for a yellow one.
"Sorry." I muttered, as I looked up to see Mikayla. We both burst into laughter.
"Were you gonna get that dress too?" I asked.
"Yeah, the song kind of got me in a Grease mood." She giggled.
"You can be Sandy if you want." I offered.
"We can both be Sandy." She smiled.
"No, I'd rather not. I'll look for a Pink Ladies costume." I shrugged.
"No, I meant one of us can be the 'good' Sandy and the other the 'bad' one." She smiled.
"Okay, you get to pick which one you want since you came up with the idea."
"I think I'll take bad Sandy. Good Sandy is totally up your alley." Mikayla smiled.
"Fair enough. Although maybe I could get this dress shortened?" I suggested, touching the yellow fabric.
"That's why we needed to come early." She sang.
With our costumes settled, everything else could go smoothly that day. But I should have suspected it wouldn't.

"How cool is it that we're invited to Selena Gomez's party?" I said as we walked up to the venue.
"So cool." Mikayla whispered, taking it all in.
"I think we've made it." I giggled.
"Let's go have fun! And no talking about you-know-who." She reminded as we walked in.
Mikayla and I looked around, unsure of where to go. People were doing whatever they pleased. There was a dance floor, a bar and a terrace with a pool. The first area was obviously there for what it was designed for, the second was a place to chat and have drinks and the last was more of a chill area with sofas.
"Wanna grab a drink?" I offered.
Mikayla nodded.
As we walked through the crowds of people, it wasn't easy to tell who exactly they were. The costumes were spotless and my self doubt was starting to take over as we reached the counter.
"Why don't you both look gorgeous!" A female voice exclaimed behind us.
"Selena! Hi! Thanks for the invite!" I smiled at her Scarlet Witch ensemble.
"So glad you could make it! Grab a drink and make yourselves at home." She replied, patting Mikayla's shoulder before moving on to greet other guests.
We sat at a table to have our drinks when a blonde Danny Zuko approached us.
"Sandy! I was looking all over for you." Niall laughed.
I got up from my seat to hug him.
"It's been so long! How are you?" I greeted.
"Great! What are the odds of you both matching my costume?" He smiled.
"We totally have to take some pictures later." Mikayla said after giving him a hug.
"By the way, have you seen Harry? He told me he was coming!" Niall asked.
"Oh. He's here?" I gulped, eyeing Mikayla.
"Nope! Round two?" Mikayla chimed in, raising her empty glass.

After a couple of more rounds of drinks, we headed to the dance floor.
Mikayla pointed out a sign that read 'Request your song here!'
"Oh yeah, people are requesting songs to match their costumes." Niall informed us.
"Oh cool." I smiled, through the pain. Harry was here? Would I be able to face him?
"Y/N, stop thinking about him." Mikayla reminded.
My eyes widened, getting out my trance. Niall had surely heard that.
"Where is he?" I asked, relieved.
"He went to request a song while you were staring into space." She replied, smiling.
"Oh, what song are you going to dance?"
"I'm not dancing. You are." She laughed.
I shook my head, but Summer Nights started playing. I looked for Niall, who was waltzing towards me. I turned to tell Mikayla to dance with Niall instead, but she pushed me towards him.
It didn't take long for me to actually get into the song and enjoy it. People had circled around us to cheer us on. I hugged Niall as the song faded into Your Song by Elton John.
I walked over to the bar for drink, leaving my two dancing friends behind.
"This round's on me."
I turned to see a Captain America smiling at me.
"You know we don't pay for the drinks at a party, right?" I giggled.
"I know. I just don't really know how to start a conversation with a stranger." He smiled.
"I'll help. Hi, my name is Y/N." I said, extending my arm.
"I'm Brad. You put on a really great show with Niall." He smiled, shaking my hand.
"Thanks. You know, you're not super bad at this." I pointed out, grabbing the mocktail the bartender set before me. I definitely did not need more alcohol in my system.
"Then let's toast to that." Brad replied, clinking our glasses.
"It's getting kind of stuffy in here. Do you wanna chat outside?" I suggested.

We decided to stand next to a bar table and got to know each other a bit more. I learned that he was a singer and was in a pretty famous band: The Vamps. He learned that I was also a singer and good friends with One Direction.
"It's great that you've been able to tour on your own. It's a big milestone..." Brad drifted off as the singing inside got louder.
We both laughed and sang along.
"I hope you don't mind that I put down in words, how wonderful life is while you're in the world."
"That is such a great song, reminds me of-" I stopped myself before saying the forbidden name of that night.
"What does it remind you of?" Brad encouraged, resting a hand on my shoulder.
I shook my head and before I could say anything else, I felt a light touch on my elbow. I turned to see who it was.
"Harry." I whispered as I saw him in a sparkly Dodgers uniform.
"Y/N. I was told you were here, finally found you." Harry said, matter-of-factly.
"Here I am." I replied, stating the obvious. I wasn't liking his tone.
"Could I steal you for a moment?" Harry asked, his tone softening.
"Yeah. Sorry, Brad. I'll be back." I smiled.
"Don't count on it." Harry mumbled, offering me his arm.
I looked daggers at him before linking my arm in his. Back inside, Harry decided to go upstairs.
"Are we even allowed to be around here?" I asked, as the music seemed to dissipate.
He didn't reply still looking around. Given that all the room doors were closed, we settled for the hallway. I leaned against the wall.
"What is all this privacy for-"
