Chapter 15

We got back to the house and Tyler announced "We are home."

My dad came running, "I was so worried, where is Parker? Please tell me you killed him and he didn't get away." he said as he looked at each of us anxiously.

"Sorry to disappoint but I am not dead and I am here to stay,'' Parker announced as we all walked through the door. Asher, Tyler, and I sat at the table, and Parker, Tara, and my dad stayed standing.

"Why is he still alive? I thought that the plan was to kill him?" my dad started to yell at all of us but pointed at Tara and Tyler.

"We will talk about it later but right now we all need to go to bed, we are all exhausted." Tara said calmly.

"No, he is not sleeping in my house until I know exactly why he is still breathing," dad continued to shout and gestured toward Parker. Seeing that we weren't going to get any rest until we told him what happened at the cave we all sighed deeply and settled in to tell him the story. He didn't take it well but we were too tired to keep arguing. About ten minutes after explaining everything to my dad, we all went to sleep. Asher slept on the floor in my room, Tyler and Parker in the living room and Tara in the guest room.

In the morning I was the first one to get up, I carefully went downstairs and found Parker making breakfast. I was confused and a bit surprised to still see him here, thinking maybe he would have left in the middle of the night. "What are you doing?" I asked as I poured a cup of coffee and sat at the table.

"I made you guys breakfast to show that I am not the bad guy that I know you still think I am" he said turning back to the eggs on the stove.

Tyler entered the kitchen, yawning and said "hey, what is going on?"

"Like I said to Alyssa I made breakfast to show that I am not a bad guy."

Tyler poured himself some coffee and walked over the stove to get a better look, " What did you make? I'll try it first to make sure it's not poisoned." Tyler winked at me and sat across at the table, still unsure of the breakfast and Parker being nice.

"I made eggs and bacon," Parker said as he started putting the eggs on six plates. He sat down a plate in front of Tyler and took a step back to observe.

Tyler tried the eggs, "good eggs" is all he said as he stuffed another forkful into his mouth. You could obviously see a hidden smile. Soon everyone was downstairs eating the eggs and bacon at the table like we were all friends and family.

As we finished the last of the eggs we talked about what to do next. "So... what are we going to do about the big boss?" Parker mentioned. Excited and a little scared about what we are going to do next.

"The first thing you guys are going to do is go back to school," my dad ponied at me and Asher "you kids have not gone in weeks. After school Ash you are going to go home and explain to your parents where you have been for the last week, your mom just called and asked if you have been with us." Asher and I looked at each other both shrugging our shoulders.

"Well, I guess we'll get going to school. I'll go grab my bag." I went upstairs to grab my bag, thinking of how weird it's going to be to sit in chem class after the last few weeks we've had. I packed my bag and Tyler drove Asher and I to school. The ride to school was silent besides that couple of directions that Asher gave to Tyler.

It wasn't that bad being back, everyone asked where we were for the past week, Asher and I told them our planned out lie, that I found out I'm adopted and we went to go see my biological father and mother and I wanted Asher to come with me, being there was some truth to that it wasn't hard to keep it straight when telling people. After school Asher went home, "What do I tell my parents," he asked before climbing into his car that had been left at the school. "I can't exactly say we went on an adventure to take down a vampire and that it failed so we decided to go back to school.I am so grounded for the rest of my life." He said as he tossed his backpack into the back seat and slumped into the driver's seat.

"Don't worry if you're grounded I'll break you out so we can go to the movies." I grinned as he shut the door.

"You know I don't like the movie theaters, if you are going to break me out of my house at least make it for something fun."

"Ok how about we go back to the white hideout?"

"I am going to kill you Alyssa Green" we laughed and Asher threw the car into reverse. When we got there we waved goodbye and I began to walk home as he went inside scared to face his parents. I began thinking of the past few weeks and how much things have changed but also thinking of all the homework I now had to make up for what I missed. Maybe there is a spell to help with that? I'll have to remember to ask Tara.
