"Osman, stop fussing will you," I said buttoning up his jacket so he can leave for his studies.
"But I don't feel well mommy," Osman said back sniffing a little. His sniffing did sound real but you never know with children.
"What did we say about lying?" I asked giving him a harsh look.
"Not to do it but mommy I'm not lying" Osman answered back before he coughed a little. That worried me a lot. I placed my hand on his forehead and he was burning up.
"Rosie! Call a doctor immediately" I yelled slightly in fear. I could hear scrambling outside of the door. I heard that there was a plague outside of the castle and my fear was that it had gotten inside too.
"Lay down my dear" I pulled Osman to my bed and let him lay down. I was in the bigger chamber or Sahihuban Sultan's old chamber.
"What's wrong, Qamar? I heard you yell for a doctor" Valide Sultan asked barging into the room.
"Validam, Osman is quite sick, what if it's the plague?" I asked pushing the covers over Osman. I could see worry itch itself on the Valide's face.
"Do not scare him or getting those ideas in his head" The Valide ordered pulling me away from Osman who was watching us in fear. The doctor ran in and immediately started the examination.
"Tell the sultan" the Valide ordered the harem aghas at the door who immediately bowed and left the room. I couldn't help but start biting my nails at the mere thought of Osman being sick let alone it being a possibility that it was the plague. In minutes Hatice Sultan joined us in the room with Hürrem and Mahidevran.
"What is taking so long?" I asked the doctor. She was still looking all over Osman's body.
"I cannot seem to find a diagnosis, Sultanim, I need a second opinion," she said bowing. The Valide nodded at Rosie to bring another doctor. Osman had fallen asleep as she examined him probably from his high fever.
"What do you mean? Could this be the plague?" Validam asked the doctor who looked down unsure. I felt short of breath and immediately placed my hand over my racing heart.
"Calm down Qamar" Hatice Sultan walked over and placed her hand on my shoulder. But I couldn't calm down I was panicking. I could feel my body stopping to work and I couldn't help but lean on Hatice as my world turned black.
I woke up in my other chamber. I immediately pushed off of me the covers earning Hatice Sultan's attention from her book that she was reading on the couches in my room.
"Careful, Qamar" she walked over as I put on my slippers again.
"Osman, what happened?" I asked very confusedly.
"Osman is okay, he merely got a cold but his symptoms were close to the plague. You, however, fainted from panicking but I must congratulate you" she said smiling happily at me.
"Congratulate me? For what?" I asked as we left my chamber and started walking down the harem.
"On your pregnancy," she said. I could hear the harem girls behind us gasp in shock.
"She's pregnant already?"
"So close to Kaya Sultan?"
"I need to check up on Osman" I bowed and left for the chamber. I couldn't help but grin as I walked into the chamber and saw Mahidevran and Hürrem's grim faces.
"Mommy!" I walked over to Osman who opened his arms happily. I sat down beside him and hugged him.
"We're glad his condition is improving," Hürrem said. I smiled at her and nodded at her.
"I'm going then" Mahidevran nodded and left the room. Hürrem walked over to stand beside me as I pulled the covers over Osman covering his body.
"Congratulations on your pregnancy, " She said slightly gloomy.
"Thank you Hürrem" I nodded smiling at her. She nodded and left the room. I pushed some of Osman's hair back.
"Daddy came over to check up on me, he seemed worried when he heard you were sick but couldn't come to check on you because Ibrahim pasha asked for him for work," Osman said. That's what was both good and scary about children, they have no filter and speak without thinking.
"I'll visit him then" I kissed his forehead and nodded at Rosie to stay with him. She bowed as I walked out of the room.
I walked down the harem and the golden road. I smiled when Suleiman's room came into view. Bali Bey the new keeper of the privy chamber, Bali Bey.
"Sultanim" he bowed when I stopped in front of him. I smiled at him and nodded.
"Inform his majesty that I must see him for I have news for him," I said smiling brightly at him. Bali Bey nodded and walked into Suleiman's room. Bali Bey was a good fighter and loyal to Suleiman, I must pull him to my side somehow.
"Come on inside, Sultanim" I walked into Suleiman's room. He was sat on his bed reading a book. He immediately threw his book to the side as I bowed to him.

"How are you feeling now, my moon?" Suleiman asked opening his arms. I walked over to his bed and sat down beside him.
"I am as healthy as I can be" I answered grinning up at him.
"I am with child," I said making his eyes widen. Suleiman grinned and pulled me closer placing a kiss on my forehead.
"You made me very happy with this news" he muttered bringing me closer to him. I leaned against him and he placed his hand over my stomach that will be the house of our child for many months.
After spending some time with Suleiman I left back for the harem. I went straight back to my chamber. Osman will be staying in the bigger chamber while the rest of my children will be in the old chamber so they won't catch the sickness from their older brother.
Murad was sat on the floor playing with his new toy. Murad had turned one just before Kaya was born. I sat down behind him as he placed and assisted him with his grip on the toy. May Allah grant all of my children a long life.
