A faint voice sounds from his phone, "We both know I like him."

Isagi isn't dumb, he knows he's that person. He knows he's Kazuya's crush, and it's exactly what he wanted to hear, it's exactly what he did hear. So why is he scared?

He jumps up from his chair, nearly knocking it over with a loud noise. His cat, Arata, hisses then runs out of the room. Muttering a quick 'sorry.', his fingers reach for the end call button. He can only hope Kazuya didn't hear it.

His throat goes dry, and his eyes freeze over on the sight of the seven letters stuffed in a half-opened folder.

All thoughts leave his head, elbows propped on his knees and fingers stuck in his hair. His breathing picks up, and he can feel his chest tighten.

Taking in short breaths, he whispers, "I like guys, don't I?"

He lets his tears fall down his face, hands shaking. Knowing how hard it is to be accepted by anyone, really, while liking the same gender is difficult, he's scared out of his mind. He doesn't want to like guys, not one bit.

"Hun?" His mother, Iyo, peeks through his bedroom door holding a plate with food.

He turns his head away quickly, the air getting knocked out of him. Iyo frowns, looking at the wet patch of t-shirt near his neckline. "Love, look at me please."

Her son turns his head slowly, nose twitching from gasping for air. She frowns, sets dinner on his desk, and holds his face in her hands. A mothers worst nightmare, seeing their precious crying-- and trying to hide it from them.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Her voice is gentle, it's exactly what sets Isagi's 'cry button' off.

His tears leak onto her hands, down her now wet forearms. "N-not ri-right no-w." He hiccups out, pulling into a hug.

A hug, a warm hug, a hug that says 'I love you.' to him. His fingers grip her purple shirt and left small nail indents in her back, his lower back aching from stretching over to her.

He pulls away, grabbing her hand instead. "M-mom?"

"Yeah?" Her grip on his hand tightens, a reassurance to him.

"Y...ou w-won't," He swallows his saliva, "ha-...te m-me?" His tears start streaming out of his face faster, his nose starting to feel runny.

She can feel her heart shatter; there was no way she could ever hate him.

"Yoichi, I didn't carry you for nine months to hate you." Her fingers brush his wet bangs off his face, "I love you, okay? Don't feel pressured to tell me whatever you're going to tell me."

"I l-love y...ou, too." His chest starts pounding, is this seriously it? "M-mom. I-I l...like guys."

Her eyebrows lift, then quickly relaxes them to not worry Isagi. A soft smile itches on her face, a sense of relief taking over. Honestly, she thought he would tell her that he had murdered someone, this was definitely a lot better.

She scoots closer to him, cupping his tear-stained face. "I'm glad you told me."

His stomach drops, giving her a tackle hug. Soon enough, she starts crying into his shoulder as well.

Bittersweet, but all's well that ends well.
