Wraith sat atop Crypto's Map Room, a Longbow DMR held tightly in her hands. She surveyed the surrounding area carefully, inspecting the landscape for any enemies. "Next Ring's far, hope you like exercise." The voice of her squad mate began from behind her. Wraith rolled her eyes. "Might be something good this way." She called over he shoulder as she jumped down off of the roof. Mirage was right behind her, a dumb grin on his face as always. Wraith led the way to Market.

Once they had arrived, Wraith entered and began to loot. She gathered a Spitfire, a few arc stars, as well as a level two backpack. She had yet to find an evo shield. Mirage had tried to give his to her, but she refused. "You're more of an idiot than Octane, and that's saying something. You definitely need it more than me." Wraith had told him.

Her and Mirage had a... Complicated relationship, to say the least. It was fairly obvious that the Holographic Trickster had feeling for Wraith, and Wraith hadn't a clue on whether or not she felt the same. Subtle flirting happened occasionally, but they had never done anything more. It was a running joke between legends and fans alike that the two were having a secret affair with each other behind the scenes.

Wraith always just rolled her eyes when the press came around. While Mirage soaked up all of the attention he was getting, Wraith quietly stood beside him. She couldn't deny that she had thought of scenarios of the two of them together, but she always brushed it off and continued whatever she was doing. Doing just that, Wraith shook her head to herself and continued to loot. After a moment, she noticed a faint metallic sound begin outside of Market's walls. She poised her Spitfire in her hands, her blue eyes narrowing at one of the doors. "Hey Mirage..." Wraith called cautiously over her shoulder.

She heard Mirage walk up behind her. "What's up?" He asked absentmindedly. Suddenly, he heard it too. "That's Revenant..." Mirage muttered, his brow furrowing. Wraith froze, her heart painfully skipping a beat as she was frozen to the core. She couldn't say she wasn't afraid of the Synthetic Nightmare. She feared him nearly as much as Caustic's deadly gas traps. Wraith had seen first-hand what the simulacrum could do to people, and it terrified her.

"Hey, it's alright. I can't hear any one his squad mates, which means he must be alone. You'll be okay, I promise." She felt a gentle touch on her lower back, calming her slightly and making her breath hitch. Without saying a word, Wraith allowed herself to give Mirage a quick, curt nod. Mirage nodded back, giving her a small sad smile. 'He's pitying you!' Wraith's mind scoffed. Her mind, not the voices. It did this often, telling her what she thought about the people around her. She knew that it was just herself overthinking but she couldn't stop it. "Listen, I'll go try to bamboozle him to find out where he is. You just stay here, I'll come running if I hear anything." With that, Mirage turned and started down the hall.

Wraith stayed where she was standing, leaning against the balcony and looking up at the hole in the roof. Minutes ticked by and she began to drop her guard. She eventually got bored and turned around only to come face to face with the robot. She ducked just in time to avoid getting her brains blown out with a Wingman. Just as Wraith was about to phase, her chest pounding frantically, she was slammed with a giant orb of blistering heat. She went tumbling off of the balcony, landing on the ground with a grunt of pain. As she attempted to phase again, nothing happened. "No... No no no no no!" Wraith was about to pushing herself off of her back and get up before a heavy metal foot stamped into her chest.

The Interdimensional Skirmisher cried out in pain. "Beg for your life. It's good for both of us." Revenant growled above her, his orange eyes glowing with a look of pure menace. The sight engraved itself into the back of Wraith's eyelids, she saw it even as she clamped her eyes shut from the pain. Suddenly, all weight was lifted off of the short woman. She seized her chance to scramble up before she doubled over on her knees. She clutched her stomach, pain arcing up and down her spine. "This part never gets old." Revenant's unmoving mouth said with a laugh before his hand disappeared, his robotic digits transforming into a sharp dagger. Wraith glared up at the robot, her busted lip sending a trickle of blood oozing down her chin.

With that, Revenant pulled his arm back before plunging it into Wraith's chest, easily lifting her small body into the air with no exerted effort. He held her there for a few long moments, watching her struggle to breathe. Wraith managed a quiet, pained laugh, before glaring down at Revenant. "I'd ask you to tell death I said hello," She managed to choke out, trying desperately to stay conscious. "But you won't be seeing him any time soon." This filled the robot with a fiery rage, causing him to finally pull his arm out of Wraith, letting her fall to the ground limply. She collapsed to her side, feeling warm blood pool on the concrete around her. "You should've stayed home today." Revenant spat before turning and disappearing into the shadows. He left no trace behind, and Wraith blinked her eyes as they rapidly lost the ability to see. "Mirage..." She huffed in a light and airy whisper before the feeling of falling was upon her. In the last few seconds of consciousness, she heard a sheer echo around her. "Wraith..!" The woman couldn't move, couldn't open her eyes, couldn't do anything as she slipped away into darkness.

Mirage stumbled over to Wraith's side, falling to her knees and lifting her into his arms. She didn't stir, and she was heavier than Mirage expected. She was small, only about 5'4, but she was muscular and currently dead weight in his grasp. He carried her away, trying his best to ignore the deep gash underneath her ribs. "Just hang in there, Wraith. I've got you." Once he got to a safer spot, he lay her down gently. Tears threatened to seep from his eyes, but he merely blinked them away. It was obvious that Wraith wouldn't survive an injury this bad, but he tried to make her as comfortable as possible. "I'll see you when you get up to the drop ship, okay? I promise." He brushed hair out of her face, watching her for a long while. "I promise."
